WAFA: “Israeli forces seal off entrance to Jerusalem town”

JERUSALEM, Monday, October 31, 2022 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday evening sealed off the entrance to Hizma town, northeast of Jerusalem, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that the heavily armed soldiers closed the northern and southern entrances of the neighborhood, stopped vehicles and inspected passengers’ identity cards.

Israeli severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of approximately 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads, and various other physical obstructions.

Closures besides to other measures, taken under the guise of security, are intended to entrench Israel’s 55-year-old military occupation of the West Bank and its settler colonial project which it enforces with routine and frequently deadly violence against Palestinians.

Israeli Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians Near Hebron

On Monday evening, Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians near the main entrance of the Al-Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The soldiers invaded the main entrance area of the refugee camp, leading to protests, before firing live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers caused dozens of Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation before local medics provided them with the needed treatment.

The soldiers also installed roadblocks and closed several streets before stopping and searching many cars.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct Six Palestinians In West Bank

On Monday evening, Israeli soldiers abducted six Palestinians, including an elder and his son, in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

The Tubas office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society said the soldiers invaded the Ein Al-Baida village in the Northern Plains of the West Bank and abducted Raddad Hamed Daraghma and Yazan Mithqal Fuqaha.

In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted an elder, Khalid Sharifa, and his son Mohammad from the Old City.

The soldiers also invaded and ransacked many homes in Silwan town, in Jerusalem and confiscated surveillance recordings and equipment from homes and stores.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, the soldiers abducted Ezz Jawad Tabakhi from the Old City and Mohammad Hamamda, 24m, from Ma’in village in Yatta, south of the Hebron.
