Army Demolishes Two Palestinian Homes Near Jenin

On Wednesday, Israeli soldiers invaded Jalboun village, northeast of Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, demolished two homes, and injured several Palestinians, including the head of the Village Council.

Ibrahim Abu Ar-Rob, the head of Jalboun Village Council, told the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) that several army vehicles, including two bulldozers, invaded the village and demolished two homes owned by Khaled Jamal Abu Ar-Rob and Amir Mohammad Abu Saif.

Ibrahim added that Khaled’s home was a two-story, 200-square-meter under-construction building, while Amir’s home was 120 square meters, inhabited by five family members.

Although the Village Council licensed the homes, the army claimed the constructions were not permitted by the Civil Administration Office, the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Ibrahim said the army demolished the two homes, built on lands the Palestinians privately own, due to their proximity to the illegal Annexation Wall, separating the Palestinians from their lands.

The demolitions led to protests before the soldiers fired gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing several injuries; one of the wounded was the head of Jalboun Village Council, who was shot with a gas bomb in the head, before Palestinian medics rushed him to a hospital for treatment.

Also Wednesday, Israeli occupation soldiers invaded the Al-Walaja village northwest of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, and demolished two Palestinian homes.

Israeli Soldiers Demolish Two Palestinian Homes Near Bethlehem

On Wednesday, Israeli occupation soldiers invaded the Al-Walaja village northwest of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, and demolished two Palestinian homes.

Khader Al-A’raj, the Mayor of Al-Walaja, said several army vehicles invaded the Ein Jweiza area after surrounding and isolating it.

He added that the soldiers demolished two homes, one owned by Othman Shweiki and one owned by Khitam Khalil Radwan.

The army claimed that two homes, about 120 square meters each, were built without a permit from the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine.

The two homes were licensed by the local council and were built on lands owned by the two families.

Ein Jweiza is subject to constant Israeli violations, including the demolition of dozens of homes, retaining walls, agricultural sheds, and rooms, due to Israel’s illegal policies and colonialist activities.

The Israeli violations against al-Walaja started in the 1980s when Israel implemented its plans to annex the Palestinian lands to build its illegal colonies by denying all construction permits filed by the Palestinians, in addition to dividing the lands, zoning and designating large areas as “green zones,” to prevent the Palestinians from using them, not to mention surrounding them with the illegal Annexation Wall.

Al-Walaja is already surrounded by the illegal colonies on Gilo, Har Gilo, Givat HaMatos, and Har Homa, which were all built on stolen Palestinian lands, in addition to the large areas of lands that were annexed when Israel paved roads leading to these colonies, installing railways and designating lands as natural reserves, off-limits to the Palestinians.
