Israeli occupation forces demolish a Palestinian-owned house in the Tira town in 1948-occupied Palestinian territories, under the pretext of building without a permit on June 12, 2022

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces demolished on Sunday a Palestinian-owned house in the Tira town in 1948-occupied Palestinian territories, under the pretext of building without a permit.

On Sunday morning, as local sources reported, Israeli occupation forces stormed the Tira town and cordoned off the two-storey house owned by Palestinian resident Samer Titi.

The occupation bulldozers then demolished the uninhabited house under the pretext of lacking an Israeli-issued construction permit.

Israeli occupation authorities have intensified the demolitions of Palestinian houses in the 1948-occupied Palestinian territories.

Israeli occupation forces have demolished or seized 300 buildings across the occupied West Bank, including the eastern part of Jerusalem, since the start of 2022, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ (OCHA).

In its recent report, OCHA noted that ‘Israel’ widely uses the pretext of lack of construction permits to demolish Palestinian houses, especially in Area C in the occupied West Bank, which constitutes around 60% of its space.

Soldiers Demolish A Home In Jericho

On Monday, Israeli soldiers demolished an under-construction Palestinian home in Aqbat Jaber refugee camp, south of Jericho city in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.

The WAFA Palestinian News Agency said the home, one hundred square meters, is owned by Ali Hasan al-Karshan and was being constructed on his land.

The Israeli army claimed that home, in Area C of the occupied West Bank, did not receive a permit from the so-called Civil Administrative Office, the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli colonialist occupation of Palestine.

Mohammad Ghrouf, the head of the Political Bureau of the Jericho Governorate, told the WAFA News Agency that the Israeli occupation authorities have escalated the demolition of the Palestinian homes and structures amidst a serious increase in demolition orders.

He added that the Israeli authorities issued, over the past week, five demolition orders of inhabited Palestinian homes east of Jericho, in addition to imposing further restrictions on Palestinian constructions in Area C (%60 of the occupied West Bank).

The official said the latest orders are part of the ongoing Israeli attempts to remove the Palestinians from the area to benefit the construction and expansion of the illegal colonies, in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Wounded Palestinian Remains In Serious Condition

Palestinian medical sources have reported that a Palestinian, who was seriously injured after Israeli soldiers attacked him in Tarqoumia town, northwest of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, remains in a critical condition.

The sources said that Husam Fatafta suffered fractures to the skull and a Hemorrhage in the brain after Israeli soldiers truck him with their rifles on the head.

They added that Husam’s condition improved, yet he remains in a serious condition.

On Saturday, the Palestinian was assaulted and seriously injured when the army attacked dozens of nonviolent protesters during a procession against the Israeli order illegally annexing 600 Dunams of Palestinian lands in Tarqoumia.

Palestinian medics rushed the wounded young man to the Al-Ahli Hospital In Hebron, due to the seriousness of his condition.

The soldiers also shot Husam’s brother and a journalist with rubber-coated steel bullets and caused many to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army recently handed orders to ten Palestinians forcing them out of their lands, planted with olives and grapevines.

The Israeli army claims that lands, more than six hundred Dunams, are “state lands,” although the Palestinians privately own them.

Israel is trying to expand Adora and Telem illegal colonies by confiscating the Palestinian lands in the area to allow for the new constructions.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
