Displacing 13 people, ‘Israel’ demolishes Palestinian-owned building in occupied Jerusalem

Israeli occupation authorities demolish a Palestinian two-story building in Beit Safafa neighborhood, south of the occupied city of Jerusalem on May 25, 2022

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli occupation authorities today demolished a Palestinian two-story building in Beit Safafa neighborhood, south of the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed the Beit Safafa neighborhood and cordoned off the area where the two-story building is located.

The Israeli occupation bulldozers then demolished the two-story building, owned by Jerusalemite families of Joudeh and Teineh, where 13 people were living, including children.

Ahead of the demolition operation, the forces threw the families’ properties and furniture out of their houses. They also attacked two of the houses’ residents while carrying out the demolition.

The owners of the building stated that the occupation authorities demolished the building despite having a “construction permit”, a pretext that ‘Israel’ uses to demolish Palestinian-owned structures on a regular basis to restrict Palestinian expansion in occupied Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation municipality and government built tens of thousands of housing units in illegal settlements in occupied Jerusalem for Jews with a goal to offset the demographic balance in favor of the Israeli settlers in the occupied city of Jerusalem while demolishing Palestinian structures.

Hundreds of Palestinian families are being threatened with forced displacement and house demolitions from their homes by illegal settler groups, fully supported by the Israeli government.

There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.

The Israeli court had previously rejected many appeals filed by the residents of Jerusalem, and allowed settler organizations to continue its procedures relevant to the immediate expelling of the Palestinian families.

Nablus (QNN)- Hundreds of Palestinian mourners participated today in the funeral procession of 16-year-old Ghaith Yameen who was killed in the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus by Israeli forces earlier on Wednesday.

Hundreds of Palestinians take part in the funeral procession of martyr Ghaith Yameen, 16, who was shot dead last night by the Israeli occupation forces in Nablus, north of the occupied West Bank.

Making him the 12th Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces in 2022, Israeli occupation forces shot Ghaith in the head and killed him near Joseph’s Tomb, earlier today at around 1:15 am, while they were escorting colonial settlers to the Tomb.

Colonial Israeli settlers, protected by well-armed soldiers, stromed the Tomb early on Wednesday and were confronted by Palestinian residents who rejected their presence and storming of the city.

The Israeli forces violently dispersed the Palestinian residents by firing live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and teargas canisters intensively and directly towards them, injuring at least 80 people, according to Palestinian medics.

19 of the injuries were caused by rubber-coated metal bullets, medics noted, and 67 suffered from suffocation after inhaling tear gas.

Stressing the need “to deter the occupation and hold it accountable for its heinous crimes,” the Palestinian education ministry also condemned Israel’s killing of the teen.

On Saturday, Israeli forces also killed 17-year-old Palestinian Amjad al-Fayed during a military raid into the Jenin refugee camp as they shot him in the neck and chest.

Since the start of this year, Israeli forces have killed over 50 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including veteran journalist of Al Jazeera Shireen Abu Akleh.

Israeli Soldiers Kill A Child, Injure 75 Palestinian In Nablus

The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed Wednesday dawn that Israeli soldiers killed a child and injured at least seventy-five Palestinians during protests that took place after dozens of soldiers invaded Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Health Ministry said the child, Gheith Rafiq Yameen, 16, was rushed to Rafidia hospital in Nablus, suffering a serious headshot wound.

Gheith was instantly rushed to surgery but succumbed to his serious wounds, the Ministry added.

It is worth mentioning that, in a recent social media post, the child wrote: “If I die, please don’t send me to the morgue, I don’t want to be lonely, instead, bury me in a grave where there are other kids, and please do not close my social media accounts, keep them open, visit my grave and talk to me…..”

Jibril added that the army caused forty-one Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation, one who suffered burns due to concussion grenades and another young man who fell while the soldiers chased him.

The soldiers also targeted a PRCS ambulance with gas bombs when the medics rushed a pregnant woman in labor to a Rafidia hospital in Nablus.

ِAlso, illegal Israeli colonizers fired many live rounds and hurled stones at Palestinian cars in Huwwara town, south of Nablus.

Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Samaritans revere Joseph the patriarch; however, the Israeli military allows Jews to visit as part of organized pilgrimages, despite the site being in Area A, where the Palestinian Authority has full control and prohibits Muslims from worshiping at the site.

Ultra-orthodox and nationalist Jews constantly try to visit the shrine without approval, as many Jews believe the tomb to be the final resting place of the biblical figure in the Old Testament.

Palestinians believe that Joseph’s Tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Yousif Dweikat, a local religious figure.
