Soldiers Attack Palestinian Protesters In Beita And Beit Dajan

On Friday, Israeli soldiers attacked dozens of nonviolent protesters on their lands in Beita and Beit Dajan, east and south of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in the northern West Bank, said the Palestinians marched after conducting noon prayers.

Daghlas said dozens of Palestinians marched to their lands in Sbeib Mountain in Beita before the soldiers attacked them with a few live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

The soldiers also attacked a similar protest in Beit Dajan when the Palestinians headed to their lands.

The Palestinians hold weekly protests in Sbeih Mountain and Beit Dajan to counter the ongoing Israeli colonialist attempt to illegally annex their lands.

Medical sources said dozens of Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, and a few sustained cuts and bruises while the soldiers were chasing them.

The Palestinians have been holding ongoing processions on their lands in Sbeih Mountain since May of last year after a group of illegal Israeli colonizers installed an outpost atop the mountain. During these protests, the soldiers injured thousands of Palestinians and killed several others, including children.

The Mountain, owned by the Palestinians, has significant strategic importance, especially since if it is occupied by the colonizers the colony would lead to the annexation of 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands, and would also lead to the isolation of a large area of Palestinian lands.
