Israeli soldiers abducted, Monday dawn, three Palestinians, including the brother of a political prisoner who began a hunger strike 53 days earlier, in Ethna town northwest of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers abducted Eyad Awawda, 43, after storming and searching his home in the town.
Eyad’s brother, Mo’taz, said the soldiers also stormed and ransacked the home of their brother, Khalil Awawda, 40, who started a hunger strike 53 days earlier, protesting his continued Administrative Detention without charges or trial.
He added that the soldiers demanded the family to stop all events held in the town in solidarity with Khalil.
The soldiers also abducted two former political prisoners, Khalil Shawabka, 48, and Khader al-Hroub, from their homes in the town.
The town’s invasion led to protests before the soldiers fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at the Palestinians.
A few days ago, al-Awawda was transferred from solitary confinement in Ofer prison to the infamous Ramla prison clinic.
Al-Awawda, a married father of four children, was abducted on December 27, 2021, and was instantly slapped with an Administrative Detention order.
