Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians, Attack A Child, Fire Gas Bombs At Mosque, In Hebron

Israeli soldiers injured many Palestinians, assaulted a child, and fired gas bombs at a mosque after the army attacked a nonviolent procession marking April 17, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Day, in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinians marched from the al-Hussein Mosque and headed to the Bab az-Zawiya area before the soldiers attacked them and assaulted a child, causing various cuts and bruises.

Media sources in Hebron said dozens of additional soldiers were deployed in the Bab az-Zawiya area in the center of Hebron city to counter a nonviolent procession in solidarity with the Palestinian political prisoners.

The procession was organized by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee, and various local national and social groups.

The soldiers fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades at the protesters, causing many injuries, including one shot with a live round.

In addition, many soldiers and illegal colonizers invaded Khaled Bin Al-Walid Mosque in the al-Kassara area, east of Hebron, before the army fired gas bombs at the mosque.

Furthermore, one child was injured after female Israeli colonizers assaulted him near the mosque.

In related news, protests took place at the main entrance of Fasayel village, north of Jericho in the northeastern West Bank, after the army invaded the area.
