Israeli Occupation Denies Entry Medical Devices to Gaza Strip

Days of Palestine – Gaza – Israeli occupation forces prevented the entry of medical devices to the Gaza Strip in light of the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2007 depriving Gaza patients of their right to treatment the Health Ministry said.

In a statement, the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Gaza said that the Ministry held a meeting with representatives of human rights organizations to shed light on preventing the occupation from entering medical equipment and spare parts.

MOH official added that while the world is confronting the new variant “Omicron”, the Israeli occupation is hindering the entry of several diagnostic and medical devices that help to reinforce the health system in the enclave, which is on the doorstep of the fourth wave of COVID-19 new variant.

The Ministry indicated that most of the x-ray machines, CT and MRI diagnostic radiology machines in Gaza’s hospitals, which are vital in diagnosing patients with cancer and strokes, are malfunctioning.

MOH stressed the lack of oxygen-generating devices, which are important devices for ICU patients.

Meanwhile, the patients with kidney failure who suffer due to the deterioration of dialysis devices are also struggling with their lives, the Ministry affirmed during the meeting.

The Ministry of Health indicates that it is in constant contact with international and humanitarian entities, led by the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has been provided with the reports that prove that the occupation is deliberately preventing the entry of these devices and spare parts.

MOH calls on human rights organizations defending the patients’ rights to redouble efforts and voices pressing the occupier to let these important devices enter the enclave as soon as possible.
