Israeli occupation forces kidnap 5 Palestinians, summons others in Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation forces on Monday kidnapped a number of Palestinians and handed others summonses for interrogation.

According to local sources, occupation forces stormed al-Ram town in northeast of Jerusalem and kidnapped four young men after raiding an apartment building near Dar al-Ifta headquarters.

Israeli occupation forces also handed a number of Palestinian young men from Issawiya district summonses ordering them to go to a detention centre in Salahuddin street for questioning.

Meanwhile, an Israeli occupation court issued a nine-month jail verdict against a Palestinian young man called Barakat al-Zaatari, a resident of Wadi al-Joz neighborhood.

The police also extended the detention of another Palestinian young man called Khattab ash-Sharbati until next Thursday after kidnaping him in the morning from his home.

Palestinian prisoners launch boycott of Israeli occupation courts

Days Of Palestine, occupied West Bank – Palestinian prisoners held without trial or charge have launched a boycott of Israeli occupation military courts in the occupied West Bank, as prisoner groups warn that one detainee on hunger strike faces “imminent danger of death”.

The 500 so-called administrative detainees began new year by refusing to show up for their court sessions. The boycott includes the initial hearings to uphold the administrative detention order, as well as appeal hearings and later sessions at the occupation supreme court.

Under the banner, “Our decision is freedom … no to administrative detention,” administrative detainees said in a statement their move comes as a continuation of longstanding Palestinian efforts “to put an end to the unjust administrative detention practiced against our people by the occupation forces”.

They also noted that Israel’s use of the policy has expanded in recent years to include women, children and elderly people.

141 days on hunger strike

The boycott comes as the health of Hisham Abu Hawwash – on his 141th day on hunger strike on Tuesday in protest against his administrative detention since October 2020 – continues to severely deteriorate.

The 40-year-old is the latest in a string of prisoners who in recent months have refused food and water to demand their freedom. Many of them reached a critical stage and were hospitalised for long periods until Israeli authorities agreed to release them on a fixed date.

Israel occupation forces demolish Palestinian structures in Jordan Valley

Days Of Palestine – West Bank – Israeli bulldozers today demolished a number of structures in Khirbet Ibziq community in the Jordan Valley, north of the occupied West Bank city of Tubas, the second such demolitions in one week, according to a local source.

Aref Daraghmeh, an activist, told WAFA that the Israeli forces demolished residential tents, shelters for livestock, and other structures owned by two local residents.

To be noted, Israeli forces demolished last week residential structures and barns belonging to the same family in an attempt to force the Palestinian families to leave their lands for the benefit of Israeli settlements.
