BREAKING| Three Gazans injured in an Israeli bombing east Gaza border

Besieged Gaza Strip (QNN)- At Least three Gazans were injured in an Israeli bombing on the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Local sources reported that at least three local farmers were targeted in an Israeli artillery bombing near the border of the northern Gaza Strip. One of the farmers was reported to be critically injured.

Shortly before the targeting, Israeli artillery struck a number of posts in the town of Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip.

This came in response to an alleged shooting of an Israeli employee near the border with the northern Gaza Strip. Israeli media claimed that an Israeli employee of a company that works for the occupation state was carrying out maintenance work near the border before he was shot and lightly injured.

The alleged shooting came amid a severe wave of attacks and violence carried out by extremist Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied territories as well as by the Israeli prison service against Palestinian detainees.

Israeli PM: There’s no place for Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli occupation Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, on Monday night told the Knesset that ‘Israel’ is opposed to the re-opening of the US consulate for Palestinians in Jerusalem, claiming Jerusalem is the capital of ‘Israel.

On Monday, during a meeting to the Knesset, MK Nir Barkat issued a “scathing speech against Bennett in the Knesset on the issue of a Palestinian consulate in the capital,” The Jerusalem Post reported.

Barkat said that “he personally worked with Congress and non-governmental groups to thwart the opening of the consulate.”

There were “36 senators who submitted a bill” against it and 200 congressional members who sent a special letter to Biden to ask that he shelve plans for the consulate, Barkat said, according to The Jerusalem Post.

“The government under my leadership has repeatedly clarified its position that there is no place for a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem,” Bennett told Barkat.

“Jerusalem is the capital of one state, the State of Israel – period,” Bennett claimed.

Earlier this month, a US diplomat, a former senior US official and another source familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel that the Biden administration “has effectively shelved its effort to resurrect the de facto mission to the Palestinians.”

The three sources confirmed that no such process has begun although it’s been seven months since US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the decision of reopening the Consulate.

Moreover, even the administration’s more ardent advocates of reopening the consulate have shifted their focus to policies more likely to impact day-to-day life for Palestinians, the former senior US official said.

Last May, the Biden administration announced that the U.S. would be reopening the Consulate in Jerusalem.

US President Joe Biden said he would keep the US embassy in Jerusalem “to engage the Palestinians.”

In October, Blinken also announced that Washington will be moving forward with its plan of reopening its consulate which served Palestinians in Jerusalem.

“We’ll be moving forward with the process of opening a consulate as part of deepening those ties with the Palestinians,” Blinken stated at the State Department as speaking to the press after hosting a trilateral meeting with Israeli occupation Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al-Nahyan.

The consulate dates back to 1844 and served for 25 years as the U.S. diplomatic mission to the Palestinians.

However, in 2018, outgoing President Donald Trump merged the consulate into the US embassy in Jerusalem, after he moved the US embassy to ‘Israel’ from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem after his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital in December 2017.

Several Israeli officials opposed the US plan, including Israeli PM Bennett, Israeli occupation Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

It was reported that Bennett proposed to Biden that the American Consulate reopened on the outskirts of Ramallah or in the occupied West Bank town of Abu Dis, but the United States has said it is not interested in the plan.

Pictures| ‘Israel’ demolishes Palestinian house in Jerusalem, displace residents

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday morning demolished a Palestinian-owned house in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood, south of the occupied city of Jerusalem, displacing its residents.

Under the pretext of building without a permit, Israeli forces earlier today raided the Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood and started demolishing the house of Jerusalemite Hussain Basheer, displacing the house residents.

Following the demolition of the house, local sources said, the forces attacked several Palestinians in the area by firing rubber-coated metal bullets and sound bombs, injuring over five.

Using the pretext of illegal building, ‘Israel’ demolishes houses and structures on a regular basis to restrict Palestinian expansion in occupied Jerusalem.

At the same time, the Israeli occupation municipality and the occupation government built tens of thousands of housing units in illegal settlements in occupied East Jerusalem for Jews with a goal to offset the demographic balance in favour of the Israeli settlers in the occupied city.

‘Israel’ has been moving its citizens into the occupied Jerusalem neighbourhoods since the 1980s. This has resulted in numerous human rights violations, including the forced displacement of Palestinian residents and home demolitions.

Hundreds of Palestinian families are being threatened with forced displacement and house demolitions by illegal settler groups, fully supported by the Israeli government.

There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.

The Israeli court had previously rejected many appeals filed by the residents of Jerusalem to stop demolitions and forced displacement.

Israeli authorities raze three-story house, displace its residents in Jerusalem

Days of Palestine – Jerusalem – The Israeli occupation authority on Monday morning displaced three Palestinian families after demolishing their three-story building in the East Jerusalem district of Issawiya at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

According to local sources, dozens of police officers cordoned off the area where the building was located before bulldozers embarked on knocking down the building.

The building belonged to a Jerusalemite citizen called Yassin Mustafa, who built it about 10 years ago.

Three families, including 20 individuals and one with special needs, lived in that building.

The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without licenses because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers, and for that reason, they are denied house permits.

The Israeli occupation authority also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.

Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in Occupied Jerusalem is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from the holy city.

Former US President Donald Trump closed the American consulate in occupied Jerusalem 2019. However, US President Joe Biden has pledged to reopen the consulate but this would require Israel’s consent.

Israel has opposed the move, which it believes gives the PA a foothold in Jerusalem and validates the PA’s claim that east Jerusalem is the future capital of a Palestinian state.
