Days of Palestine – Jerusalem – The Israeli municipal authorities demolished on Tuesday morning three Palestinian-owned commercial structures near the Qalandia checkpoint, north of the occupied city of Jerusalem.
Israeli bulldozers demolished a supermarket, a vegetable shop, and a gas station on the West Bank side of the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, Palestinian residents were prevented from accessing the area.
Israeli media sources claimed that the demolitions are believed to facilitate Israeli work on two road projects for settlers that include a tunnel, and thousands of housing units for a new illegal settlement near the checkpoint.
During the first half of 2021, Israeli occupation authorities demolished 63 Palestinian facilities, displacing dozens of families.
