Gaza Post – Israeli occupation forces assulated and wounded on Friday at least 83 Palestinian protesters during weekly demonstrations against the ongoing illegal Israeli settlements of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported.

local director of the PRCS, Ahmed Jibril stated in a press statement that in Beta town, southeast of Nablus in the northern West Bank, five young men were shot with rubber-coated steel rounds, including an international solidarity activist.

Five demonstrators suffered fall related injuries, two from burns, and at least 62 protesters suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation according to the statement.

Jibril said that nine protesters suffocated on tear gas at the weekly demonstration in Beit Dajan village, located east of Nablus.

Besides, he clarified that the Israeli forces blockaded the roads leading to the gathering sites, which obstructed the ambulance crews’ ability to assist the injured, a common tactic used by the occupation forces.
