Israeli forces arrest Gazan youth for crossing borders

Days of Palestine – Gaza – A Palestinian young man was arrested on Tuesday night for attempting to cross the Gaza borders into 1948 occupied Palestine.

“An army force arrested a Palestinian who was attempting to infiltrate through the border fence from southern Gaza,” the Israeli army said in a statement.

According to the statement, the Palestinians were not armed. It did not provide the name of the alleged infiltrator.

Israeli forces frequently arrest Palestinians who they claim had attempted to “infiltrate” the Gaza border.

Israel has imposed a siege on the Gaza Strip since early June 2007. When Israel imposed a land, sea, and air blockade on Gaza, citing security concerns. Two million Palestinians in Gaza remain ‘locked in’, denied free access to the remainder of the territory and the outside world.
