Israel bars Islamic Awqaf from cleaning Aqsa’s eastern area

Days of Palestine – Jerusalem – The Israeli occupation authority continues to prevent the Islamic Awqaf Administration from carrying out cleaning and repair works in the eastern part of the Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources reported a painful scene in the Mosque’s eastern area where piles of dirt and waste have been there for years because the Israeli occupation authority does not allow the Islamic Awqaf and its crews from disposing of them.

The Mosque’s eastern area is also exposed to daily break-ins by Jewish settlers after the police force Muslim worshipers to leave it.

Groups of settlers gather in this area for Talmudic prayers and stay there for a long time almost every day. They also use the area as a lavatory to relieve themselves, according to local sources.

Israeli Colonizers Bulldoze Palestinian Lands In Northern Plains

Several illegal Israeli colonizers invaded, on Sunday evening, Palestinian farmlands in the Khirbat al-Hadidiya area in the Northern Plains of the occupied West Bank, and bulldozed them in preparation for occupying them.

Human Rights activist Aref Daraghma stated that the colonizers brought bulldozers and started uprooting the lands, in the northern part of Khirbat al-Hadidiya.

Daraghma added that the colonizers have recently escalated their violations against the Palestinians and their lands.

He also said that the colonizers recently bulldozed farmlands in a nearby meadow and started marking them down in preparation for occupying them.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Humanitarian Law.

Israel Colonizers Escalate Expansion Of Outpost near Nablus

Illegal Israeli colonizers have escalated the expansion of an illegal outpost they installed on stolen Palestinian lands, in Jaloud village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the colonizers have built, in the past several weeks, hundreds of new units in the illegal Kida outpost.

He added that the expansion of the illegal outpost, which was first installed on Palestinian lands in the year 2003, aims at turning it into a city by stealing more Palestinian lands.

Daghlas also said that, in the year 2016, the Israeli High Court, issued a ruling preventing the expansion of the outpost and the illegal annexation of the Palestinian lands.

Despite the ruling, the colonizers, who enjoy the protection of the Israeli army, continued to work on expanding the outpost by building more homes in addition to bulldozing and uprooting the Palestinian lands.

Soldiers Conduct Training In Palestinian Village

Israeli soldiers conducted, on Sunday evening, military drills in Khalayel al-Louz area, east of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank.

Rateb Obeyyat, the head of Hindaza Local Council, said dozens of soldiers invaded Khalayel al-Louz area, after surrounding it, and conducted their military drills between the homes.

He added that the training also including military helicopters and that the soldiers then started running in the neighborhoods and a few abandoned homes.

Obeyyat also said that many Palestinians, especially the children, suffered anxiety attacks, and added that the soldiers also prevented many Palestinians from reaching their homes until the drills were over.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequently invade Palestinian communities to conduct training, displacing entire families.

The military drills include the use of live fire and shells in Bedouin villages and farmlands in the Jordan Valley, in addition to various areas in the occupied West Bank, mainly near Tubas, in central West Bank, Hebron, in the southern part.

Besides the destruction of Palestinian property, these military drills have led to dozens of casualties, including fatalities.

Israeli Army Abducts Four Palestinian Near Gaza Perimeter Fence

The Israeli army claimed, on Monday morning, that the soldiers abducted four Palestinians overnight after they allegedly tried to breach the perimeter fence in the southern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the army said its soldiers arrested a young Palestinian man who was “trying to breach the fence,” and added that he carried a knife and a wire cutter.

It added that the soldiers also arrested three other Palestinians in a separate incident, after they attempted to breach the fence while carrying knives, according to the military statement. The four young men were moved to interrogation facilities.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequent abduct Palestinians who cross the perimeter fence, including many who accidentally approach the fence while hunting, and others who had to cut the fence trying to cross into nearby Israeli areas seeking work outside of the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip.

The army also repeatedly opens fire at Palestinian farmers, workers, and shepherds near the fence across the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the constant attacks targeting the fishermen and their boats in Gaza territorial waters, leading to dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to serious property damage and the confiscation of many boats after abducting the fishermen.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct Thirteen Palestinians In West Bank

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Monday at dawn, at least thirteen Palestinians from their homes, after the army invaded many communities and ransacked homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the West Bank, the soldiers invaded and searched many homes in the city, and Bani Neim town, east of the Hebron, and abducted three Palestinians.

The Hebron office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said the soldiers abducted Abdul-Basset Hazem Ja’bari and Mohammad Jamil Ja’bari, from their homes in the city, in addition to Ahmad Sharif Ziadat, from Bani Neim.

The soldiers also installed roadblocks in the Jouret Bahlas area, north of Hebron, in addition to the main entrances of Sa’ir and Bani Neim towns, before stopping and searching dozens of cars and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

Furthermore, the soldiers invaded Jaba’ town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, searched homes, and abducted two young men, identified as Emad Ahmad Eshteiwi and Malek Yasser Fashafsha.

Many Palestinians protested the invasion and hurled stones at the army jeeps, while the soldiers fired gas bombs and concussion grenades.

In addition, the soldiers invaded Beita town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, searched homes, and abducted Karam Mohammad Daoud, and Sa’id Zoheir Daoud, in addition to a former political prisoner, Jihad Dweikat, from their homes.

The soldiers also summoned a former political prisoner, identified as Hazem Idrees, for interrogation at a nearby military base.

In Tulkarem, in northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded Qaffin town, north of the city, searched homes, and abducted Hazem Walid Sabah and Ahmad Fathi To’ma.

The soldiers also invaded Ni’lin, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and abducted Jad Nafe’ from his home.

Also, the soldiers invaded the Shu’fat refugee camp, northeast of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, searched a few homes, and abducted Yousef Jolani and Isamel Jolani.

In related news, the soldiers abducted four Palestinians overnight after they allegedly tried to breach the perimeter fence in the southern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israeli Soldiers Open Fire At Farmers And Fishermen In Gaza

Israeli soldiers and the navy attacked, Monday, many Palestinian farmers, and fishermen, in the Gaza strip, causing damage, and forcing the Palestinians to leave.

Media sources said Israeli navy ships opened fire at several Palestinian fishing boats only three nautical miles from the shore, in the Sudaniyya Sea area, northwest of Gaza city.

They added that the navy attacked the boats with water cannons and several rounds of live ammunition, causing severe damage to at least one boat.

The attack did not lead to casualties but forced the fishermen back to the shore in fear of further Israeli escalation, without being able to fish to provide for their families.

In addition, Israeli soldiers stationed in military towers cross the perimeter fence near the Malaka area, east of Gaza city, fired many live rounds at Palestinian farmers, especially in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza city, forcing them to leave.

Israeli Army invades Farmlands In Khan Younis And Al-Maghazi, In Gaza

Several Israeli military vehicles invaded, on Monday morning, Palestinian farmlands in Khan Younis and al-Maghazi, in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Media sources said four armored military vehicles, including a bulldozer, advanced dozens of meters into Palestinian farmlands in the al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Younis.

They added that the vehicles invaded the lands through the as-Sreij gate of the perimeter fence, before bulldozing sections near the fence and installing sandhills.

In addition, at least armored military bulldozers invaded farmlands east of the al-Maghazi, in central Gaza, and bulldozed several sections while military drones flew overhead.

The invasion took place shortly after the Israeli army and the navy attacked many Palestinian farmers, and fishermen, in the Gaza strip, causing damage, and forcing the Palestinians to leave.

Paramilitary Israeli Colonizer Shoots A Palestinian In Jerusalem

A paramilitary Israeli colonizer opened fire, Monday, at a young Palestinian man and injured him, during a nonviolent activity in solidarity with the families of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Media sources said many Palestinians were carrying flags and chanting against the escalating Israeli violation against them, especially the ongoing displacement of the Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and the other parts of the occupied city.

They added that a paramilitary colonizer opened fire at the nonviolent protesters, mildly injuring a young man in the leg.

Israel soldiers closed the entire area while groups of fanatic colonizers gathered and chanted racist slogans against the Palestinians, calling for their expulsion from occupied Jerusalem.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli High Court will be holding a hearing, today, to look into appeals filed by four families (al-Kurd, Eskafi, al-Qassem, and al-Gha’ouni), about a month ago, against the ongoing attempts to kick them out of their homes to replace them with the illegal colonizers.

Number Of Hunger Striking Detainees Reaches 18

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that a political prisoner from Bethlehem, started a hunger strike three days ago, protesting being held under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders, without charges or trial. This brings the number of hunger-striking detainees in Israeli prisons to 18.

The PPS stated that the detainee, Ahmad Hamamra, from Beit Sahour city, east of Bethlehem, started an open-ended hunger strike three days ago, protesting his continued Administrative Detention.

The PPS added that Israel recently transferred Hamamra to solitary confinement in the Negev Detention Camp where most hunger-striking detainees are held.

It said that seventeen of the hunger-striking detainees are held under the Administrative Detention orders, and one, identified as Mohammad Nuwwara from the central West Bank city of Ramallah, is protesting his continued solitary confinement.

The PPS said detainee Salem Zeidat, from Bani Neim town near the southern West Bank city of Hebron, was the first to start the hunger strike 22 days ago.

It is worth mentioning that at least 40 detainees went on hunger strikes since the beginning of this year protesting their ongoing Administrative Detention.

There are 540 detainees, held in three Israeli prisons; Majeddo, the Negev, and Ofer, who remain imprisoned under the arbitrary Administrative Detention orders.

— More than an hour before this report was published, the PPS stated that, according to the family of detainee Husam Rib’ey from Hebron, their son has suspended the hunger strike after Israel decided to cancel the Administrative Detention order, to officially serve an indictment against him. —
