Gaza post – The Israeli occupation authorities released the body of a Palestinian lady shot by its soldiers last night after holding it hostage for more than 40 days according to local sources.
Soldiers shot and killed Ibtisam Kaabneh, 27, of Jericho, on June 12 at the Qalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah, saying she attempted to carry out a stabbing assault against them, and then kept her body to prevent her family from properly burying her.
Her family was eventually able to bury her at the Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho after her body was released late last night.
In August 2015, Israel detained Kaabneh, who had left behind a baby, and sentenced her to 18 months in prison for her anti-occupation actions.
