‘Israel’ issued 155 administrative detention orders in May

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israel’s military court has issued 155 administrative detention orders since the start of May, the orders came as part of a systematic arrest campaign that targeted over 2400 citizens, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Association.

According to a statement by the NGO, the Israeli arrest policy has been a main part of an escalation against native Palestinians throughout Palestine.

The statement added that the Israeli escalation is very dangerous, as it targets all Palestinians, who are active politically, scientifically, or socially.

The occupation state is holding nearly 500 Palestinians under administrative detention, of whom three are children and two are women.

Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, alleging that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based is not disclosed. the occupation state, according to B’Tselem, employs this measure extensively and routinely, and has used it to hold thousands of Palestinians for lengthy periods of time. While detention orders are formally reviewed, this is merely a semblance of judicial oversight, as detainees cannot reasonably mount a defense against undisclosed allegations. Nevertheless, courts uphold the vast majority of orders.
