The source added that the FRC demanded to be responsible for approving the names of the candidates after being chosen by the Central Committee, noting that the committee’s response has not been identified yet.
FRC member Abdullah Abdullah had said that Barghouthi previously rejected a suggestion by Hussein Sheikh to be on the top of Fatah’s list.
“I don’t know if there is any recommendation by the FRC but he [Barghouthi] has rejected a suggestion by Hussein Sheikh in this regard”, Abdullah had told QNN.
Meanwhile, member of the FRC Hatem Abdel Qader had said that Barghouthi does not intend to be on the top of any PLC candidates list, stressing that he wants to run for President “as polls confirm that he is more likely to win.”
