Palestinian administrative detainee enters the 25th day of his open hunger strike

Days of Palestine – Ramallah – The Commission of Detainees Affairs said that the prisoner, Jibril Al-Zubaidi, 34, from Jenin Camp, is continuing his open hunger strike for the 25th day in a row, refusing his administrative detention, with no indictment or trial.

The commission stated this evening, Wednesday, that the occupation prisons administration is holding the prisoner Al-Zubaidi in solitary confinement in Section (10) of “Megiddo” prison, he suffers from very difficult detention conditions, as the prison administration had taken all electrical devices and personal belongings from him, and they’re not even giving him Underwears, in addition to constant and provocative searches are carried out against him.

The release added that the health condition of the prisoner Al-Zubeidi has deteriorated, as he suffers from pain in the joints and bones, a breathing crisis, a decrease in blood sugar, and has lost about 13 kg of weight so far, and he feels tired and exhausted when he speaks, knowing that he does not take any Supplements only consumes water and salt.

The prisoner Al-Zubaidi was scheduled to be released on 17/12/2020 after having finished his sentence, but the occupation authorities issued an administrative detention order against him for a period of 6 months.

It is to be mentioned that the prisoner Al-Zubaidi is a former prisoner, who continuously spent 12 years in the occupation prisons , he was released in 2016, and was re-arrested again on 25/2/2020. He is married, a father of two children, and the brother of the two prisoners Zakaria and Daoud Al-Zubeidi.
