Last Sunday, a delegation from the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior in Gaza visited the “Latin Monastery” and “Prepores” churches in Gaza City, and offered their congratulations on the occasion of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Christians consider that the participation of Muslims in the New Year celebrations is one of the most beautiful aspects of Christmas every year in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances that Christians live in in a besieged geographical area that witnessed many Israeli wars that destroyed many Christian monuments and their special atmosphere.

Christians in the Gaza Strip are keen to perform prayers and their religious rituals on Christmas at the “Saint Porphyrios” church, completely adjacent to the “Kateb Wilaya” mosque.
