A Palestinian teen was shot in the face by Israeli soldiers, on Friday, while dozens more suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation when Israeli troops were confronted by Palestinian youths in several parts of the occupied West Bank.
In Kufer Malik, northeast of Ramallah, in central West Bank, Israeli troops shot and injured a Palestinian teenager in the face with a rubber-coated steel bullet during confrontations in the village.
A local ambulance transferred the teenager, who sustained moderate wounds, to the nearby Ramallah city hospital for medical treatment.
The confrontations in Kufer Malik began after Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian residents who were protesting an illegal Israeli settlers’ outpost build on their lands one month ago.
According to eyewitnesses, armed settlers fired live rounds at the unarmed Palestinian protesters, while soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets at the crowd, injuring the teenager.
Elsewhere, Israeli troops fired tear-gas and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinian protesters, in the town of Salfit, southwest of Nablus, in northern West Bank.
The army attacked the demonstrators who gathered on the Palestinian-owned lands, which are being threatened with take over, in order to build illegal settlements on.
Medical sources said that many Palestinians were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation due to the army attack.
Moreover, confrontations erupted between local youth who hurled stones at invading Israeli troops in the village of Kufur Qaddoum, east of Qalqilia, in northern West Bank.
Israeli troops attacked, Friday, the villagers’ weekly peaceful protest demanding the army to open the entrance of the village that the occupation forced closed 17 years ago.
During the ensuing hostilities, the local youth managed to force down a military drone that troops use to fire tear-gas at residents homes in the village, local sources reported.
Also on Friday, Israeli forces fired tear-gas canisters at residents’ homes in the old city of Hebron in southern West Bank.
According to local news sources, soldiers took over Palestinian residents’ rooftops and fired tear-gas into residents’ homes causing many civilians to suffer the toxic effects of tear-gas inhalation.
