Army Injures Several Palestinians In Kufur Qaddoum

Israeli soldiers injured, Friday, one Palestinian and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation after the army attacked the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum village, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia.

Morad Eshteiwi, the coordinator of the Popular Committee in Kufur Qaddoum, said the procession started after Friday noon prayers, when the Palestinians marched denouncing the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation, colonization, and oppression of the Palestinian people.

Eshteiwi added that the soldiers invaded the village, and fired a barrage of gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets at the Palestinians.

One Palestinian, identified as Wael Amer, 20, was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the head, before being rushed to Rafidia hospital, in Nablus, while many others received treatment for the effects of teargas inhalation.

The Palestinians in Kufur Qaddoum have been holding weekly processions against the Annexation Wall and colonies, and demanding the army to reopen the main road at the entrance of the village, which was blockaded by the army 17 years ago.

Israeli soldiers injured, Friday, a Palestinian child, during a procession in the center of Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The soldiers attacked dozens of residents protesting the ongoing closure of Shuhada Street, in the center of the city.

One child, 15 years of age, was shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the thigh, and many other Palestinians suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

The child suffered a light injury before being moved to a local hospital, while medics provided treatment to Palestinians who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers closed the Shuhada Street in Hebron after the February 25, 1994 massacre, which took place after an Israeli-American colonist opened fire at the worshippers in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, killing 29 Palestinians and wounding around 150.

The fatal attack led to massive protests, and the soldiers killed 21 Palestinians that day alone.

The attacker, Baruch Goldstein, entered the Ibrahimi Mosque and launched a shooting attack against worshipers who were kneeling in morning prayer.

Baruch Goldstein is a Brooklyn-born Israeli physician. He had emigrated to Israel in 1983, and lived in the illegal Kiryat Arba settlement, based on the Palestinian lands of Hebron. He was killed by Palestinians who managed to overcome his heavy fire.

‘Made in Israel’ is endorsement of land theft and plunder, said Hanan Ashrawi

Ramallah (QNN)- Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee member, Hanan Ashrawi, has condemned yesterday the US Secretary of State visit to the illegal Israeli settlement of Psagot in the West Bank.

“The visit of US Secretary to the occupied West Bank is a last ditch effort by the outgoing US administration to entrench its pattern of criminality, illegality, and direct complicity in the colonization of Palestine and dispossession of our people. It is also a cynical exploitation by Mr. Pompeo to advance his own personal political goals as the new face of far right ideologues in the US,” Ashrawi stated.

Regarding Pompeo’s decision of labeling products made in illegal Israeli settlements as ‘made in Israel’, Ashrawi said this step is “an outrageous and illegal policy tantamount to de facto recognition of Israel’s annexation of most of the West Bank.”

She added, “It is an attempt to legitimize the theft of Palestinian land and plunder of Palestinian resources that runs counter fundamental principles of international law and the global consensus.”

Ashrawi also condemned Pompeo’s decoupling of the Occupied Palestinian Territory by labeling Palestinian products from the West Bank and Gaza as separate entities, saying that “this is one more measure affirming that the Trump agenda was always the disenfranchisement of the Palestinian people and their permanent subjugation to Israel’s illegal control.”

She declared that such measures are intended to “corner the incoming US administration with layers of legal and administrative measures that maintain the destructive Trump legacy beyond his disruptive term,” adding “these policies have very real consequences on Palestinian lives and rights that must be undone.”

UK lists Jerusalem separately from Israel on COVID-19 travel advisory

UK (QNN)- Jerusalem has been listed as a separate entity from ‘Israel’ in the UK’s updated list of countries from where you can travel to England and may not have to self-isolate.

The CFI, Conservative Friends of Israel, expressed outrage, saying this decision is “offensive and hostile.”

“The announcement of a travel corridor with Israel is excellent news,” the CFI said. “However, the Foreign Office’s decision to define Jerusalem as a territory separate from Israel is offensive and hostile,” stated CFI in a statement.

“Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. To describe Jerusalem as anything other than an integral part of Israel is a fiction divorced from reality and the travel advice must be immediately corrected,” CFI added.

However, after calling on the UK’s Foreign Office to correct the travel advice, the Foreign Office has corrected it, listing Israel and Jerusalem together.

Board of Deputies of British Jews@BoardofDeputies

Absolutely inappropriate to list ‘Jerusalem’ as a separate country. We have taken this up with ⁦@FCDOGovUK⁩ this morning & they are urgently reviewing it.

Israel to Evict 400 Palestinians from Jerusalem’s Neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah

Israeli occupation authorities have issued a decision to forcibly evict 400 Palestinians, including women and children, from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem.

Jerusalem affairs specialist, Fakhri Abu Diyab, told Al-Mugtama news site that occupation authorities have issued a decision to evacuate 28 buildings, housing 80 Palestinian families to hand them over to Jewish settlers who in turn will convert them into military barracks.

“The Israeli claims that the ownership of the properties belongs to the Jewish settlers are unfounded,” Abu Diyab said, explaining that the Palestinian families have been living in the homes since 1956.

“The Israeli occupation’s decision is a crime and an aggression which aims to empty the city of its Palestinian residents and create a demographic imbalance that favors the settlers,” he added.

Israeli forces have demolished 176 Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem since the beginning of this year and approved the establishment of 17,000 settlement units in the Holy City.

PA restoration of ties with Israel: Hamas leadership to discuss political developments

Deze afbeelding heeft een leeg alt-atribuut; de bestandsnaam is 2SnpD.png

Days of Palestine – Gaza – Taher al-Nunu, the adviser to the Chairman of Hamas Ismail Haneyya, said that the Movement’s leadership will hold a meeting soon headed by Haneyya to study recent developments.

The leadership will discuss the political developments and the Palestinian reconciliation after the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) announcement of resuming its relations with the “Zionist enemy”, Nunu added.

He said in a press release on Friday that Hamas affirms its commitment to achieving national unity based on full partnership and resistance.

He pointed out that this was expressed by the Movement during the meeting of the Secretaries-General, the Istanbul dialogue, and more recently in the round of talks that was held in Cairo sponsored by the Egyptians between senior delegations from Hamas and Fatah.

Hamas leadership will hold consultations with the Palestinian factions, figures and national forces to discuss the national strategy to deal with the changing conditions in the Palestinian arena.

Hussein al-Sheikh, the PA minister of local government, had revealed on Tuesday the restoration of security relations and coordination with the Israeli occupation authority.

For his part, Hazem Qassem, Hamas’s spokesman, rejected on Thursday the announcement by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, of his country’s decision to consider the settlement products as Israeli products.

“This announcement is a real aggression against the rights of Palestinian people and reflects American arrogance and rudeness,” Qassem said.

He explained in a press statement that this decision is the biggest fraud carried out by the US Secretary of State, who is genuinely hostile to the Palestinian people and their rights, and the decision he announced is a violation of all international laws, decisions and norms.

Qassem stressed that the US decision confirms that the Palestinian issue is going through a dangerous stage which requires a unified Palestinian position to confront all threats.
