Today, Friday, the occupation forces suppressed participants in an anti-settlement rally and the seizure of land in the northern town of Asira, in the Nablus governorate.
Hundreds of residents of the governorate, and foreign peace activists, participated in the march called by the PLO factions, the institutions of the Nablus Governorate, the Wall Resistance and Settlement Authority, and raised Palestinian flags and slogans condemning the seizures of citizens ’lands and the violence and orgy of settlers in the area.
Participants in the march held Friday prayers, over the lands threatened by the seizure over the top of Mount Ebal, amid the Israeli occupation forces firing poison gas and rubber-coated bullets.
It is noteworthy that settlers placed two mobile homes on the top of Mount Ebal in the lands of the northern town of Asira in Basin No. (37), called the Khalat al-Daliyya region.
Israel’s relationship with Arab states does not depend on peace with the Palestinians, Israel’s Minister of Intelligence Eli Cohen told i24NEWSon Thursday.
He stressed that even if a peaceful solution with the Palestinians seems impossible, Arab states are going ahead in developing ties with Israel as they believe the main threat within the Middle East is Iran.
“We should be aware that the importance of oil and gas is decreasing, whereas the importance of technology is on the rise,” he expressed. “Therefore, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and others are interested in cooperation with Israel, it’s a matter of mutual interest.”
On the Israeli plan to annex large parts of the occupied Palestinian West Bank, Cohen explained that Israel intends to go forth with the plans despite the global pandemic, in order to make use of the window of time before the US elections, which could bring a new administration that does not support the annexation.

In a statement sent to mass media, Al-Khodari announced that the suffering of the residents whose homes were destroyed in 2014 is “complex” as they suffer from a lack of homes and from the consequences of the 14-year-long Israeli siege on Gaza.
Al-Khodari also added that more than 500 factories were seriously damaged during the Israeli offensive, noting that 85 per cent of these factories were: “Completely paralysed due to the retention of the Israeli siege.”
“Despite the end of the Israeli offensive, its repercussions are still continuous,” he stated, noting that the situation in the Gaza Strip is “exceptional and tragic”.
He added that the owners of the factories destroyed during the Israeli offensives have still not received compensation, which is paid only for residential buildings.
Al-Khodari pointed out that the outbreak of the coronavirus along with the continuous Israeli siege have “perpetuated the suffering” of the Palestinians in Gaza and “aggravated their tragedy.”
The Israeli occupation authorities in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem, Friday, ordered a halt to construction works of two Palestinian-owned homes in the Al-Khader village, south of Bethlehem city.
Director for the Palestinian Committee Against Israel’s Apartheid Wall and Illegal Settlement Activities, Hassan Bureija, confirmed that the two homes are owned by Palestinian civilians, Nader Salah and Mohammad Salah, along with their family members.
Bureija stated that Israeli troops invaded the Al-Khader village and prevented three cement mixers and a cement pumping vehicle, from delivering cement to the under-construction home of Mohammad Salah.
The two homes are located in the Om Rokba neighborhood of Al-Khader village, which has recently seen increase in the demolition of Palestinian homes as well as blocking the construction of homes.
Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported that the pretext used for the stop construction order, was the lack of Israeli authorities’ permission to build in the area.
Israeli forces shot a Palestinian young man during confrontations at the entrance of Kifl Hares town, near the northern West Bank city of Salfit, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
The Ministry of Health confirmed that a 24-year-old Palestinian young man, unidentified at the time of this report, was shot and injured with a rubber-coated steel round in the chest.
The man was rushed to hospital in Salfit and rushed to emergency surgery, where medics described his condition as stable.

Israeli forces, at dawn Friday, abducted three Palestinian civilians from their homes in Jerusalem and Ramallah, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
Asra Media Office said that Israeli soldiers detained both Abdullah Dweik, and Ahmad Ali Ahmad, after invading their homes in Al-Jalazoun refugee camp in Ramallah, central West Bank.
Confrontations flared up between Palestinian residents of Al-Jalazoun and Israeli soldiers who fired tear-gas canisters at the civilians protesting the invasion.
Local residents reported that the army confiscated the cellphones of Palestinian journalists present at the scene, obstructing their ability to cover the incident.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military stormed a Palestinian home in Jabal al-Mukabber village in East Jerusalem, in south of the West Bank, and detained an unidentified Palestinian young man.

At least eleven protesters were reported to be injured, one of whom is, Hazem Yasin, the mayor of Asira ash-Shamaliya, who sustained fractures in the hand after being hit by a teargas canister.
Mayor Yasin was transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
Some suffered the toxic effects of tear-gas inhalation, some were injured from concussion grenades, while others were said to have bean beaten by Israeli soldiers with clubs.

Ramallah (QNN)- A new statistical study by Palestine center for prisoners’ studies revealed that the occupation state has arrested 2250 Palestinians during the first half of this year.
The study stated that the arrests included 350 children, 69 women, 12 journalists, and 12 elderlies.
The arrests also included 35 patients and Palestinians with special needs, two members of the legislative council, and 58 arrests over Facebook posts.
Most arrests took place in Jerusalem with 1050 of all ages and categories. The spokesperson of the center added that Hebron came second with nearly 350 arrests. 42 Palestinians were also arrested from Gaza.
Meanwhile, the collective punishment policy has been escalated during the same period. The policy has been used against the families of Palestinian prisoners, demolishing their houses.
In the same context, arrests among children have increased to 350 cases, including 22 children under the age of 12, while some of them were shot by Israeli soldiers during their arrest.
The Israeli penalties on Palestinian children prisoners have been estimated at 150,000 NIS (nearly $45).
The study added that the occupation state continued to issue administrative detention orders although of the coronavirus crisis and the international appeals to end the unlawful policy, issuing 557 administrative detention orders during the first half of 2020.
The administrative detention orders targeted all segments of the Palestinian people, including children and women.
The occupation state continues to arrest 400 Palestinians under administrative detention, without charge or trial.
Palestinian students celebrating their Tawjihi results
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli police on Saturday arrested eight Palestinian youths, who set off fireworks to celebrate their Tawjihi results, reported Arab 48.
The fireworks “scared the Israelis”, pushing the Israeli police to issue a Rreassurance statement addressing Jewish citizens.
“In the last few hours, fireworks were heard in the neighborhoods of East Jerusalem”, the police statement read. “We reassure that the fireworks were set off to celebrate Tawjihi results.”
The statement added that the police have arrested eight “suspects”. “quantities of fireworks had been seized and investigations were under way”, the statement stated.
The results of the Tawjihi exam were announced this morning, pushing hundreds of young students to the streets to celebrate their results.
The Tawjihi is the General Secondary Education Certification Examination in Palestine and serves to determine which subjects Palestinian students are permitted to study in Palestinian universities.
