Israeli Prison Moves Palestinian Prisoner on Hunger Strike to Solitary Confinement

Israeli Prison Service (IPS), on Wednesday, transferred Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike, to solitary confinement, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.

The Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said that the IPS transferred Palestinian prisoner, Sami Janazreh, who began a hunger strike ten days ago, in opposition to being placed under administrative detention, without charge.

Janazreh, 47, a father of three children, and the secretary-general of Fatah, was reportedly moved from the Naqab prison to Ayla prison, and placed in solitary confinement.

The PPS noted that the IPS transferred Janazreh and placed him in solitary confinement, with the intention of forcing him to end his hunger strike.
