The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday detained a Palestinian citizen near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, south of the West Bank.
Local sources said that the Israeli occupation forces stopped Mohammed Abu Turki, 28, at a checkpoint near the Ibrahimi Mosque and searched him.
Abu Turki was later arrested and taken to an undeclared destination for allegedly plotting a stabbing attack.
Dozens of Palestinian youths have been arbitrarily arrested or killed over the years at Israeli occupation forces checkpoints installed in Hebron, especially the Ibrahimi Mosque area, over several allegations.
The Israeli forces’ aim is to pressure the Palestinian residents of the Old City of Hebron to leave the area and make way for more settlement construction.
