A Palestinian young man was shot and wounded on Sunday morning when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) were chasing a number of Palestinian workmen near the separation wall north of Tulkarem City in the northern West Bank.
Local sources said that the IOF heavily fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at a group of Palestinian workers who were heading to their workplaces in the 1948 occupied territories though a gate in the separation wall.
They added that one of the workers suffered a live bullet injury and was evacuated by Palestinian Red Crescent crews for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, a large number of IOF soldiers stormed Qaffin town, north of Tulkarem, and chased a group of Palestinian workmen near the separation wall in an attempt to arrest them, but no arrests were reported.
Recently dozens of Palestinian workmen have been injured or arrested by the IOF in the West Bank during their attempts to enter the 1948 occupied territories through separation wall gates for work.
