Washington (QNN)- 2020 presidential candidates Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Thursday condemned recent Israeli escalation following the announcement of a cease-fire earlier in the day.
Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders expressed concern for both Israelis and Palestinians, while Warren was the only candidate to acknowledge that multiple Palestinians have been killed.
“I welcome the Gaza ceasefire. Dozens were killed in Gaza, and hundreds of rockets fired at Israel”, Warren wrote in a tweet.

I welcome the Gaza ceasefire. Dozens were killed in Gaza, and hundreds of rockets fired at Israel. We must work to end rocket attacks on Israel, eliminate the Gaza blockade, and solve the humanitarian crisis so that all Israelis and Palestinians live in security and freedom.3,6959:47 PM – Nov 14, 2019Twitter Ads info and privacy

Israelis should not have to live in fear of rocket fire. Palestinians should not have to live under occupation and blockade. The U.S. must lead the effort to end the crisis in Gaza and the persistent violence that threatens everyone.21.9K9:33 PM – Nov 14, 2019Twitter Ads info and privacy
The subject of conditioning aid to Israel has become a consistent topic during the campaign, with Sanders, Warren, and Buttigieg all indicating they’d be open to it. Recent polling shows that a majority of Democratic voters would like Israel’s military aid conditioned over its human rights abuses.
Recent days have seen an Israeli escalation against the besieged enclave, with Israeli airstrikes killing at least 34 Palestinians mostly civilians.
A cease-fire brokered by Egypt was announced early Thursday. The fragile ceasefire was violated by the Israelis several times.
The escalation started on Tuesday, when the Israelis assassinated an IJ leader along with his wife and a passerby and wounded 18 in what the Israelis called a “surgical operation”.
A series of Israeli strikes shook the strip for 72 hours, murdering 34 Palestinians and wounding over 111 others. 15 school were targeted and damaged by the Israelis.
The Palestinian resistance retaliated firing hundreds of missiles at occupied Palestine.
