GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestinian female prisoner Suad Rizeigat, 28, has gone on hunger strike since her arrest on Dec. 3 protesting the Israeli jailers’ ill-treatment against her, family sources said.
Suad, from Tafuh town in al-Khalil, is currently held in solitary confinement in Ramle prison in spite of her difficult heath situation due to her hunger strike declared nine days ago, her brother underlined.
The hunger striker’s brother called on human rights institutions and international women’s groups to immediately intervene for his sister’s release before it is too late, especially that she is held administratively in Israeli jails without charge or trial.
Suad was arrested from her family home in al-Khalil then held in administrative detention for four months.
She was arrested in 2008 and sentenced for one year and a half for being allegedly involved in attacks against Israelis. Her husband died after an Israeli settler deliberately ran over him only six months after their marriage.
