Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah Zawawi addresses a conference on Palestine in the Iranian capital on July 29, 2013.

Palestinians are seeking to create an independent state on the territories of the West Bank, East al-Quds (Jerusalem), and the Gaza Strip and are demanding that Israel withdraw from the Palestinian territories occupied in the Six-Day War of 1967.

Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah Zawawi says all free and freedom-seeking nations are responsible for the liberation of Palestine.

Palestine will be liberated because fighters of this land have fought in the past and will continue fighting in future, Zawawi said on Monday in a speech at a conference on Palestine.

He added that the Palestinian issue was a Western project.

”As Jewish people have always been oppressed by Westerners, they [Westerners] decided to establish a government for the Jewish people in a Muslim country to introduce themselves as saviors of the Jewish on the one hand and on the other hand get rid of the Jewish,” the Palestinian envoy stated.

The Zionists are trying to distract Muslim nations from the main issue of the Muslim world which is Palestine, Zawawi stated.

The Palestinian-Israeli talks were halted in September 2010 over disagreements on Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank.
