JENIN, May 9, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday demolished 11 shops and structures in Barta’a, a village behind the segregation wall southwest of Jenin, and handed eight other businesses demolition orders for their shops, according to a local official.
Head of Barta’a village council Ghassan Qabaha told WAFA that a large Israeli military force raided the village, declared it a closed military zone and proceeded to demolished commercial facilities, a carwash, in addition to two auto parts shops.
He said the force also handed eight Palestinians demolition notices for their shops in the same area.
Qabaha condemned these Israeli measures which he said aim to force the residents to leave their land in order to seize it.
