ANKARA, (PIC)– Turkey’s Interior Minister Muammer Guler expressed his ministry’s willingness to cooperate with its Palestinian counterpart in the Gaza strip.
The Turkish Minister’s statements came during a meeting with the Palestinian Interior Minister Fathi Hammad in the Turkish Interior Ministry headquarters in Ankara on Wednesday.
The Turkish Interior Minister stressed that his country has made great effort to grant Palestine non-Member Observer State status in the United Nations, stressing the Turkish people’s solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The Turkish minister called for ending the division and achieving the Palestinian national reconciliation, stressing his country’s continued support for the Palestinian people until fully lifting the siege on Gaza.
For his part, Palestinian Interior Minister Fathi Hammad briefed his Turkish counterpart on the situation in the Gaza strip where the Gaza Interior Ministry’s headquarters and offices were destroyed during the two Israeli aggressions.
Hammad welcomed the Turkish Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Gaza strip in May.
