TEHRAN, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) — Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani pledged the country’s all-out support for Palestinians, describing “resistance” as the sole path for Palestine’s liberation, the English-language satellite Press TV reported Sunday.
Larijani made the remarks on Saturday when meeting with a group of Palestinians who were released from Israeli prisons in October.
“The principle policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is defending the rights of the oppressed people of Palestine in all areas, and to that end, it spares no effort to help the Palestinian nation,” Larijani was quoted as saying.
Larijani said that defending the rights of the Palestinian people and liberating the occupied lands of Palestine are the great responsibility of all “freedom-seekers” in the world.
He lauded the Palestinians’ struggles against the Israeli occupation, adding that “the Palestine cause” is a “human aspiration” and “resistance” is the “only path” that leads the Palestinian nation to the achievement of their goals.
Tehran has never hesitated to pronounce its all-out support for Palestinians in their struggle to fight against Israel to establish their own state, and Iranian officials have incessantly used stark rhetoric condemning Israel’s siege on Gaza and called on the Jewish state to fully lift it and reopen all crossings to the strip so that humanitarian aid can be shipped into the territory.
