Ali Akbar Velayati, the top adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Friday that “the enemy seeks to spread strife in the (Middle East) region with the aim of diverting the attention away from the Palestinian issue.”
Velayati’s remarks were made while addressing the second International Union of Resistance Scholars today in Beirut.
“Resistance, and not compromise, remains the only path to freedom of Palestine,” he said.
Some of the countries in the region were unashamedly normalizing relations with Israel, he added.
The Iranian official hailed Hamas Movement’s position after refusing Israeli conditions on Palestinian reconciliation, mainly disarming, cutting its ties with Iran, and recognizing Israel.
Hamas delegation’s visit to Iran was a practical response to Israeli terms, according to his statements.
The second meeting of International Union of Resistance Scholars, which had begun on Wednesday in Beirut, came in coincidence with the anniversary of Balfour Declaration.
More than 200 scholars from over 80 countries had taken part in the two-day event in the Lebanese capital. The first international conference of resistance scholars was held in Lebanon in May 2016.
Maryam Rajavi, president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), takes part in a rally in Villepinte, near Paris
Paris– Iranian opposition held its annual convention 2017 in auditorium in Villepente Exhibition Center, near Paris, on Saturday in a massive expression of support urging the world to adopt a firm approach toward the regime in Iran.
Hundreds of prominent political figures and activists from all over the world attended the convention.
President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Maryam Rajavi delivered a speech saying: “the regime’s overthrow is possible and within reach, and a democratic alternative and organized resistance exists that can topple it.”
Whereas Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Iranian opposition on French soil is a moot point in Tehran-Paris ties.
Participants criticized Iran’s regional and international behavior and announced their support for the opposition in toppling the regime.
Mujahid-e Khalq hoisted Iranian flags with lion and sun logos on it.
Mujahid-e Khalq is one of the prominent opposition parties calling for regime change in Iran. The organization was formed in 1965 and was part of the factions that toppled the former regime.
Rajavi said that toppling the regime is crucial to ensure security and peace in the region.
“The only solution to free the people of Iran and establish peace and tranquility in the region, is the overthrow of the Iranian regime,” declared Rajavi.
She said that the ruling regime is in disarray and paralyzed as never before, adding that the Iranian society is simmering with discontent and the international community is finally getting closer to the reality that appeasing the ruling theocracy is misguided.
Speaking about the recent presidential elections, Rajavi stated in fear of a repeat of the 2009 uprising, Khamenei had to back down from his plan in the presidential election sham to bring the name of Raisi, the executioner in charge of the 1988 massacre.
“The regime is not capable of reform because the so-called reformists who were in office for more than half of this regime’s rule, did nothing but serving the Welayat-e Faqih. This regime cannot be contained, because more than three decades of West’s concessions did not bring about any change in this regime,” NCRI leader said.
Rajavi highlighted the plight of Iran’s population under the current regime, and commended Iran’s political prisoners for supporting the gathering “from the depths of the regime’s torture chambers.”
Rajavi added that the international community must recognize the resistance of the Iranian people to overthrow the mullahs’ religious dictatorship and designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and evict it from the entire region.
NCRI’s President underlined the Iranian Resistance’s unwavering belief in the people’s free choice, the separation of religion and state, women’s active and equal participation in political leadership, and the autonomy of various ethnic groups in the framework of Iran’s territorial integrity.
She added, “As I have reiterated, repeatedly, we want neither money, nor arms. We urge you to recognize the Iranian people’s right to overthrow the mullahs’ religious dictatorship.”
Addressing the conference, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Islamic Studies Prince Turki al-Faisal called for Iranian Supreme Leader and Iranian officials to be brought to justice for their “crimes against the Iranian people,” who he described as the “first victims” of the Iranian regime.
Prince Turki explained that what made Arabs and Iranians brothers, was “not only geography, but the humanitarian relationships.”
“All the (Gulf Cooperation Council) GCC countries and their neighbor Iran have always been living in harmony until the Khomeini revolution came into being in 1979,” Prince Turki added.
He said there was an “external strategy… to replace the concept of stability with the concept of coup and conflict.”
Faisal stressed that the Iranian elections are undemocratic and illegitimate because Khamenei appoints the candidates adding that the behavior of the Iranian regime does not qualify it to be a democratic system.
Former UN ambassador, John Bolton said during the Grand Gathering that the outcome of the US policy review will determine that the regime will not last.
Bolton added that Tehran must not be allowed to control the arch from Baghdad to Damascus to Lebanon. Iran’s regime is not only a nuclear threat but also a conventional threat to peace and security.
Tehran regime does not change its behavior, so the only solution is to change the regime, stated Bolton, adding that the US declared policy should be regime change and there is a viable opposition in this room.
Former NY Mayor, Rudy Giuliani said the only way for stability in the Middle East is through a regime change.
“You, I, my government and your leadership, we see Iran in exactly the same way. The regime is evil and it must go. Free Iran,” said Mayor Giuliani.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed regret that the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) has been given permission to carry out its activities in France.
“The presence and activities of the MKO in France are regarded as “a moot point” in relations between Tehran and Paris,” Zarif said in an interview on Saturday.
“During our talks with the French officials, we raised this issue as a moot point in our relations and they also emphasized that they have no connection with this group (MKO),” he said.
He added that the MKO’s terrorist nature is not hidden to anybody, saying all regional and European countries are aware of the group’s acts of terror.
“Allowing activities of a group notorious for Iranians and has terrorist background, a group which had cooperated with Saddam’s regime and we have witnessed their terrorist attacks and their efforts for terrorist attacks in Iran is the only dark point in history of countries cooperating with the groups,” Zarif warned.
Zarif further continued that reactionary regime of the regime are making investment on the group one more time as they did in the past.

Iran has imposed sanctions on nine American individuals and companies for aiding and abetting “the Zionist regime’s anti-human crimes in occupied Palestine.” The move was apparently made in retaliation for the US imposing new penalties on Iranian individuals.
On Wednesday, the US administration of Donald Trump extended sanctions relief for Iran under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a nuclear agreement between Tehran and the Group of 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany). However, the US Treasury also announced new sanctions on Iranian individuals and companies; two Iranian defence officials, an Iranian company and members of a China-based network have been targeted for their alleged support for Iran’s ballistic missile programme.
Local sources said that Iran’s foreign ministry condemned the US Treasury’s decision to impose new sanctions. This, it believes, is an attempt to “downplay the positive outcomes” of extending the JCPOA deal.
The ministry also announced that it had come up with a plan to retaliate with the sanctions against the individuals and companies. “The individuals and entities have a proven record of brazen violation of human rights and international humanitarian law by engagement or direct and indirect aid for the Zionist regime’s anti-human crimes in occupied Palestine or in that regime’s terrorist measures.” The nine also stand accused of involvement in, or aiding and sponsoring, “takfiri” [ie Jihadist] terrorism and suppression of people in the region, or of engagement in measures against the Islamic Republic of Iran’s national security.
Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Posted July 26, 2017
Candidates are gradually beginning to register to run in Iran’s upcoming city council elections, which are to be held concurrently with the May 19 presidential vote.
The contest for the powerful Tehran City Council has always been one of the most controversial in Iran. During the past decade or so, the conservatives have been able to hold the majority, but this year, Reformists and allied moderates are determined to seize power by focusing on the weak spots of the ruling council.
The Tehran City Council elects the Tehran mayor, who oversees the Tehran municipality — the largest, most wealthy and influential municipality in the country. For instance, the Tehran municipality budget in 2015 was $5.73 billion, while the corresponding budget for the country’s second largest city, Tabriz, was a mere $924 million. As such, it should be noted that in the past decade or so, the mayorship has been used as a stepping stone to launch bids for the presidency — by former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2005, and by incumbent Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in 2013.
The conservative-dominated Tehran City Council has in recent months come under increasing fire over events that are blamed on mismanagement and corruption on the part of the Tehran municipality, which is headed by Ghalibaf.
In August, confidential documents leaked to the media showed Tehran municipality’s “illegal” generosity toward Tehran City Council members. According to a confidential report by Iran’s Inspection Organization, which answers to the judiciary, Tehran municipality had been selling property below market value to a number of conservative Tehran City Council members and other high-ranking municipality officials. At first, Ghalibaf dismissed the report, but then claimed that the underpriced homes were sold to officials who would otherwise not be able to afford them. The statement of the conservative mayor, who has held his position since 2005, may have been true, but the fact of the matter remains that most of those who bought the underpriced homes are close to Ghalibaf and the conservatives. In the end, the judiciary entered the fray and announced that a large number of the contracts to sell the properties had been entered illegally. In this vein, several people were summoned by the judiciary. However, the Reformists couldn’t really pounce on Ghalibaf further as the Tehran City Council was still in the hands of the conservatives.
Moreover, in January, the first modern high-rise in Tehran collapsed, with more than 20 firefighters perishing under the debris. The public backlash over the disaster spiked as media reports said Ghalibaf was in the holy city of Qom, meeting with senior clerics to get their attention ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, when the Plasco building caught fire and then collapsed. In addition, reports surfaced that the Tehran municipality had failed to enforce safety codes that could have prevented the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the presence of athletes on the Tehran City Council has encountered opposition from the media and public, particularly as some of the sportsmen — who once were celebrated national champions — are accused of corruption and of taking sides after receiving financial incentives. Prominent artists and athletes still appear eager to try their luck at entering the Tehran City Council, assuming that they will win, but public reactions to corruption allegations suggest that the incoming Tehran City Council will be void of athletes and artists.
As such, it seems that the competition between conservatives, on the one hand, and Reformists and moderates politicians, on the other hand, will be particularly tense. In this vein, the latter are confident that the outcome of the February 2016 parliament elections, which saw Reformists and moderates take all 30 parliamentary seats in Tehran, will be repeated May 19.
Unlike the parliamentary and presidential elections, in which candidates are vetted by the conservative-dominated Guardian Council, City Council candidates are only vetted by the government, which is now controlled by a Reformist-moderate coalition. In this vein, it can be anticipated that far fewer Reformists will be disqualified from running in the City Council polls.
Given that the Tehran City Council elects the Tehran mayor, the next person tasked with running the capital could end up being a Reformist or a moderate, breaking the conservatives’ hold on the important position.
In this vein, it is noteworthy that Mohsen Hashemi, the oldest son of Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who died in January, is one of the possible candidates to head the Tehran municipality. In 2013, when moderate Hassan Rouhani won the presidential elections, Hashemi narrowly lost an attempt to oust Ghalibaf — the runner-up in the presidential vote — by only three votes.
The opening speech of the Grand leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent the Merciful
Reciting of Quran verses: 3:139, 47:35.
In the beginning, I deem it necessary to welcome all you dear guests, the honorable heads of Islamic Organizations, the leaders of various Palestinian groups, the intellectuals, scholars and outstanding personalities of the world of Islam and other personalities who fight for freedom. I welcome you for your presence in this valuable conference.
The sorrowful story of Palestine and the excruciating sadness felt because, of the oppression against this patient, enduring and resistant nation, truly distresses any indivudual who seeks freedom, thruth and justice and it thrusts and agonizing pain and suffering upon one’s heart.
The history of Palestine is full of ups and downs, marked by the cruel occupation of that region, the rendering of millions of individuals homeless and the courageous Resistance of those heroic people.
An intelligent quest in history shows that no people in any era of history have ever been subject to such pain, suffering and cruelty. It has never witnessed that a country is completely occupied in a supra-regional plot, that a people driven away from their home and country and that another group of people from remote areas in the world are brought there in order to replace that nation. It has never witnessed that a real entity is ignored and that a fake entity takes it place.
But this is another dirty page in history which will be closed with the permission and asssistance of Allah the Exalted, just like other dirty pages in history: “Falshood is bound to perish (Quran 17:81) and He says: “My servants the rigtheous shall inherit the earth” (Quran 21:105).
Your conference is being held under one of the most diffucult circumstances in the world and in the region. These days, our region – which has always supported the people of Palestine in their fight against a global plot – is undergoing numerous upheavels and crises. The existing crises in several Islamic countries in the region have caused the support for the issue of Palestine and the holy ideal of Quds’ freedom to be undermined. Attention to the result of these crises helps us to understand which powers benefit from the existence of these crises.
Those who created the Zionist regime in the region with the purpose hampering the stability, solidity and progress of the region through imposing a long-term conflict are behind the seditions that exist in the present time as well. These are seditions that have culminated in the capabillities of regional nations being used to foil one another because, of engagement in futile and meaningless conflicts.
When all these capabillies are ruined, the ground will be prepared for strengthening the usurping Zionist regime on a daily basis. Amid all these, we are witness to the endeavors of well-intentioned and wise personalities in the Islamic Ummah. They are dilligently trying to resolve these differences. But unfortunatley, the complicated plots of the enemy have managed to impose civil wars on nations by benefeting from the negligence of some governments. These plots have managed to split nations against one another and to counter the effect of the endeavors that well-intentioned personalities in the Islamic Ummah have made.
What is significant in this regard is the effort to weaken the position of the issue of Palestine and to give it the lowest priority. Despite, the differences that exist among Islamic countries – some of these differerences are natural, some originate from the enemy’s plot and the rest are because of negligence- the issue of Palestine can and should be the pivot of unity for all Islamic countries. One of the achievements of this valuable conference is announcing the first priority of the world of Islam and freedom fighters all over the world, which is the issue of Palestine and the creation of an atmosphere of harmony and unanimity with the purpose of achieving the lofty goal of supporting the people of Palestine and their thruthful and justice-oriented fight.
The significance of offering political support to the people of Palestine should never be neglected. This issue has a special priority in today’s world. Even if Muslim and freedom-fighter seeking nations have different viewpoints and opinions, they can gather together with one goal which is Palestine and the necessity to liberate it. With the emergence of signs of the collapse of the Zioninst regime and the weakness that has dominated its main-allies – in particular the United States of America – it is witnessed that the global environment is gradually moving towards confronting the hostile, illegal and inhuman activities of the Zionist regime. Of course, the global community and regional countries have not yet managed to carry out their responsibillities toward this humanitarian matter.
Supressing the people of Paletine in a brutal manner, arresting numerous individuals, looting and murdering people, occupying the lands that belong to the Palestinian nation and building settlements in them, making an effort to change the appearance and identity of the Holy City of Quda, Masjid al-Aqsa and other holy Islamic and Christian places, violating the basic rights of citizens and many other abuses to exist. These acts enjoy the all-out support of the United States of America and some other western governments and unfortunately, they do not receive a proper response from the world.
The people of Palestine are proud that Allah the Exalted has given them a great favor by helping them to shoulder the great responsibility of defending this Holy land and Masjid al-Aqsa. The people of Palestine have no option other than keeping the flames of fighting alight by relying on Allah the Exalted and by relying on their innate capabilities, as they have genuinely done so until today. The intifada has begun for the third time in the occupied lands, is subject to more suppression than the previous two, but it is still moving forward in a bright and hopeful manner. And by Allah’s permission, we will see that this intifada will begin a very important chapter in the history of fighting and that it will inflict another defeat on that uprising regime.
From the beginning, this cancerous tumor has been devoloping in several phases until it turned into the current disaster. The cure for this tumor should be developed in phases as well. Until today, several intifadas and a constant and continious resistance have managed to achieve very important phase goals. The Palestinian intifada continues to gallop forward in a thunderous manner so that it can achieve its other goals until the complete liberation of Palestine.
The great people of Palestine – on who’s shoulder lay the heavy burden of confronting global Zionism and its bullying supporters – have given an opportunity to all claimants to put their claims to the test and they have done so in a patient yet vigorous and solid manner. The day when “compromise proposals” were brought up seriously with the false excuse of realism and the necessity to accept minimum rights in order to prevent those rights from being violated, the people of Palestine and all those orientations which were already aware of the inaccuracy of that viewpoint gave it an opportunity. Of course, from the beginning, the Islamic Republic of Iran insisted on the incorrectness of compromise strategies and warned of their harmful effects and heavy damages. The opportunity that was given to the compromise procedure brought about destructive effects on the path of resistance and the fighting of the Palestinian nations, but the only benefit that it had was to prove the inaccuracy of the so-calles “realism” outlook in practice.
Fundamentally the Zionist regime was formed in a way that it could not avoid seeking dominance, suppressing others and violating the true rights of the Palestinians. This is because, its entity and identity are dependent on the gradual destruction of the identity and entity of Palestine. The illegitimate entity of the Zionist regime will continue if it is founded on the ruins of Palestine’s identity and entity. That is why protecting Palestinian identity and guarding all the symbols of this thruthful and natural identity is a necessity and a holy jihad.
As long as the name and memory of Palestine and the bright flames of the all-out resistance of that nation are preserved, it is not possible for the foundations of that usurping regime to be strengthened, The problem with “compromise” is not only that it legitimizes an usurping regime by violating the rights of a nation – of course, this is a grave and unforgivable mistake in itself – rather the problem is that it is completely at odds with the current condition of Palestine and that it does not take into account the expansionist oppressive and greedy characteristics f the Zionist. However, by grasping their opportunities, these people have managed to prove the inaccuracy of those who suppport compromise. As a result of this, a kind of national consensus has emerged about the correct methods for asserting the true rights of the Palestinian nation.
Now, the people of Palestine have experienced two differerent paradigms in the past three decades of their history and they have understood the proportion of those two paradigms in relation to their conditions. The paradigm of heroic and continuous Resistance and holy intifada strands against the compromise paradigm. The first paradigm has brought about great achievements for that nation. It is not without reason that these days we witness that the resistance is being attacked and the intifada is being questioned by notorious centres.
The enemy is not expected to act otherwise because, he is completely aware of the correctnes and fruitfulness of this path. However, we sometimes witness that some of those orientations and even countries which seemingly advocate the issue of Palestine but which are trying to divert the true path of those people in reality, attack the Resistance. Their claim is that in its decade-long life, the Resistance has not yet managed to help Palestine achieve its freedom and therefore, this method need to be reconsidered.
In response, we say that although the Resistance has not yet managed to achieve its ultimate goal – the complete freedom of Palestine – it has managed to keep the issue of Palestine alive. We should ask in what condition we would be now if the Resistance did not exist. The most important achievement of the Resistance is creating a major barrier in the way of the Zionist projects. The Resistance’s success lies in imposing a war of attrition on the enemy. In other words, it has managed to defeat the main plan of the Zionist regime, namely dominating the whole region.
In this process, the essence of the Resistance and the soldiers who engaged in resistance from the beginning against the establishment of the Zionist regime and who held up the flag of resistance and converted it to future generations by laying down their lives- should be praised and commemorated.
The role of the Resistance in post-occupation eras is no secret to anyone and without a doubt, the victory of the Resistance in the 1973 war cannot be ignored although it was a narrow victory. Since, 1982, the burden of the Resistance fell practically on the people inside Palestine, but the Islamic Resistance of Lebanon – Hezbolah – turned to help the Palestinians in the path of their fight. If the Resistance had not brought the Zionis regime to its knees, we would now be witness its transgressions against other regional countries – from Egypt to Jordan, from Iraq, the Persian Gulf region to other areas.
This achievement is very important, but is not the only achievement that the Resistance has made. The liberation of Southern Lebanon and Gaza is the attainment of two important phased goals in the process of Palestine’s liberation. This has helped reverse the process of the geographical expansion of the Zionist regime.
Since the early 1980, not only has the Zionist regime not been able to transgress against new lands, but it has also begun to retreat. This retreat began with its humilating withdrawal from southern Lebanon and it continued with another humiliating withdrawal from Gaza. No one can deny the major determination role of the Resistance in the first intifada. In the second intifada as well, the role of the Resistance was fundamental and outstanding. This was an intifada which eventually forced the Zionist regime to leave Gaza. The 33-day war in Lebanon and 22-day, 8-day and 51-day wars in Gaza were all shining pages in the performance sheet of the Resistance. Those wars are a source of pride for all regional nations, for the world of Islam and for all freedom fighters in the world.
This book (PALESTINE) presented at the conference, misused by Nethanyahu in his UN speech!
In the 33-day war, all the ways to help the Lebanese nation and the valiant and resistant soldiers of Hezbollah had been blocked, but by Allah’s favor and with reliance on a great force comprised of the resistant people of Lebanon, the Zionist regime and its main ally – the United States of America – suffered a humiliating defeat as a result of which they will not dare attack that region anymore. The continuous resistance attempts made by Gaza – which has now turned into an invincible fortress – showed in the course of several wars that this regime is too weak to resist the willpower of a nation.
The main hero during the Gaza wars is the courageous and resistant nation which continues to defend this fortress with realiance on the power of faith despite enduring many years of economic siege. It is necessary to commemorate all groups involved in the Palestinian Resistance- including Sarayah Al-Quda from Islamic Jihad, Khateb al-Izz ad-Din, Al-Qassam, from Hamas, Khateb al-Shuhada, al-Aqsa, from Fath and Khateb Abu Ali Mustafa, from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine- all of which played valuable roles in these wars.
The danger origination from the presence of the Zionist regime should never be ignored! Therefore, the Resistance should benefit from all the necessary tools for continuing its duty. On this path, all regional nations and governments and all freedom seekers in the world should meet the main needs of this resistant nation. The main pivot of the Restitance is the steadfastness and endurance of the Palestinian people who have raised courageous and resistant children. Meeting the needs of the Palestinian people and Palestinian resistance is an important and vital responsibillity which should be carried out by all of us.
In doing so, we should not ignore the basic needs of the Resistance in the West Bank because, the West Bank shoulders the main burden of the suppressed intifada. By learning from its past, the Palestinian Resistance should pay attention to this important point: the Resistance and Palestine are too lofty and valuable to get involved in the differences between Islamic and Arab countries, or the domestic, ethnic and denominational differences that exist in different countries. The Palestinians, particulary Resistance groups, should appreciate the value of their preciouspositions and they should avoid entering into these differences. Islamic and Arab countries and all Islamic and national orientations should be at the service of the Palestinian ideal.
Supporting the Resistance is the responsibillity of all of us. No one has the right to have special expectations of them in return for assistance. The only condition for assistance is that such assistance is expendeding, strengthening the people of Palestine and the structure of the Resistance. Commitment to the idea of steadfastness in the face of the enemy and to the Resistance in all its dimensions guarantees the continuation of this assistance.
Our position on the Resistance is a fundamental position, one which has nothing to do with any particular group. We are with every group that is steadfast on his path and every group that abandons this path has drifted away from us. The depth of our relationship with groups involved in the Islamic Resistance is only dependent on the level of their commitment to the principle of the Resistance.
Another point that should be raised is the existance of some differences between various Palestinian group. The existence of differences of opinion is natural and understandable due to the diversity of tastes among these organizations and a long as these differences are confined to this, they will lead to increasing co-operation and depth in the fight of the Palestinian people. However, the problem begins when these differences culminate in skirmishes and – God forbid – serious conflicts.
If this happens, these various orientations will practically lead into a path that the common enemy of all them wants. They do so by foiling one another’s powers and capabilities. The managament of disagreements and differences of opinion is a skill that should be utillized by all main orientations. They should formulate their various fighting plans in a way that those plans only pressure the enemy and help the cause to be strengthened. National unity on the basis of a jihadi plan is a national necessity for Palestine. It is expected that all orientations try to achieve this unity in line with the requests of all the people of Palestine.
These days, the Resistance is wrestling with another plot as well which is the effort of some so-called friends to divert the Resistance and intifada of the people of Palestine from its course and to sell it to the enemies of the Palestinian nation in their secret transactions wit them. However, the Resistance is so intelligent that it will not fall into this trap. One of the reasons for this is that the people of Palestine are the true leaders of fighting and of the Resistance, and past experiences show that by gaining an accurate understanding of the conditions, they prevent these deviations. God forbid, if one of the Resistance orientations falls into these trap, they (the people) can reproduce that need as they have done so in the past. If a group puts down the flag of Resistance, another group will undoubtedly emerge from the heart of the people of Palestine to hold it up again.
Without a doubt, in this conference, you honorable participants will only attend to Palestine which has been subject to lack of proper and necessary attention in the past few years. Undoubtedly, the existing crises in every part of the region and the Islamic Ummah deserve attantion, but what has caused this gathering to be held is the issue of Palestine. This conference can be a model for all Muslim and regional nations to gradually harness their differences by relying on their common points and to prepare the ground by resolving each and every one of those differences, for the increasing re-inforcement of the Muhammadi (God’s greetings be upon him) Ummah.
Lastly, I deem it necessary to once more thank you all honorable guests for your valuable presence. Also, I would like to thank the esteemed Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Majlis and his colleagues in the tenth Majlis for the efforts that they made to organize this conference.
I as God the Benevolent to help all of you succeed in serving the issue of Palestine as the most important issue in the world of Islam and as the pivot of unity for all Muslims and all liberated individuals in the world.
God’s greetings and mercy be upon the lofty souls of all martyrs, particularly upon the honorable martyrs of the Resistance in the face of the Zionist regime, upon all sincere soldiers of the Resistance front and upon the immaculate soul of the founder of the Islamic Republic, who paid the utmost attention to the issue of Palestine.
May you be succesful and victorious.
Greetings be upon you and Allah’s mercy and blessings.

Khalid al-Batash, an official of Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, thanks the Islamic Republic of Iran for their unwavering support for Palestine and asked all the Arab and Muslim nations to voice their support for the Palestinian resistance.
(AhlulBayt News Agency) – The International Conference on Palestinian Intifada which was recently held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, provided a chance for politicians, Muslim scholars as well as activists from around the world to take part in discussions regarding the issue of Palestine. While the West is sponsoring Takfiri terrorists in the region and are sowing discord within the Muslim Ummah in order to divert the world’s attention from the issue of al-Quds, in the meantime, Tehran hosted an international conference in which delegations from as many as 80 countries gathered to solely discuss the situation in Palestine.
In an interview with Hawzah News, Khalid al-Batash, an official of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad movement, appreciated Iran’s role in supporting Palestine and asked all Arab and Muslim nations to stand behind Palestinian cause the same way that Islamic Republic has always been.
He referred to Iran’s influential role in supporting Palestine and said, “During the recent conference we saw that all Palestinian groups participated in the event; this goes to prove the consensus that exists among different Palestinian parties on Iran’s constructive role in furthering Palestinian resistance.” Hawzah reported.
Representative of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad Movement in the conference also thanked Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, as well as other Iranian officials and urged both countries to strengthen their bilateral ties; “The Islamic republic is actively playing its constructive role in Palestine and we ask all the Arab and Muslim countries to follow on the footsteps of Iran to support the Palestinian resistance.”
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei says intifada must continue until ‘complete liberation’, amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel
Khamenei called Israel’s government a ‘usurping regime’
Iran’s supreme leader called on Palestinians on Tuesday to rise against Israel, and confront the “cancerous tumour” of the Israeli government until they were completely liberated.
“By Allah’s permission, we will see that this intifada will begin a very important chapter in the history of fighting and that it will inflict another defeat on that usurping regime,” Ali Khamenei said, according to his website.
“From the beginning, this cancerous tumor has been developing in several phases until it turned into the current disaster.
“The cure for this tumour should be developed in phases as well.
“Until today, several intifadas and a constant and continuous resistance have managed to achieve very important phased goals.
“The Palestinian intifada continues to gallop forward in a thunderous manner so that it can achieve its other goals until the complete liberation of Palestine.”
The supreme leader’s bellicose comments, made during a two-day conference in Tehran focused on its support for the Palestinians, come at a time of increasingly heated rhetoric between Iran, Israel and the United States.
While on a visit to Washington last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News that Israel and the United States had a “grand mission” to confront the threat of a nuclear Iran.
US President Donald Trump has already been highly critical of a deal hammered out between Iran and world powers, including the United States, in 2015 intended to partially lift sanctions on Tehran in exchange for curbs on its nuclear programme.
Iran says its programme is for purely peaceful means.
When Iran carried out a ballistic missile test in late January, Trump’s then national security adviser Mike Flynn said the administration was putting Iran “on notice”.
Ordinary Iranians have been posting their concerns about a possible military confrontation between Iran and the United States on social media.
Khamenei did not mention any Iranian military attack against Israel in his comments on Tuesday and was focused on Palestinians.
Rejecting the regime’s use of chemical weapons, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif accuses anti-government fighters of using chemical weapons
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif, pointing to Sunni militants in Syria fighting against its allies in Damascus, told the Munich Security Conference that the use of chemical weapons could never be condoned.
Damascus, an ally of majority-Shia Iran, this week rejected a recent Human Rights Watch report that said its military and allied forces had used chemical weapons during their capture of Aleppo last year. It instead accused anti-government fighters of using chemical weapons.
“The use of chemical weapons can never be condoned…Unfortunately the terrorist organisations Nusra and Daesh still possess chemical weapons,” Zarif said.
The United States last month blacklisted 18 senior Syrian officials it said were connected to the country’s weapons of mass destruction programme, after an international investigation found Syrian government forces were responsible for chlorine gas attacks against civilians.
France said on February 14 that the UN had to respond over the use of chemical weapons with a resolution that would punish those responsible for repeated attacks.
A French diplomatic source said that Paris was still looking for the right time to put the resolution to a vote but that it was working on a new text in the hope of ensuring it was supported by Assad ally, Russia.
“We have again started work on a text with our partners,” the source said.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei finally broke his silence and dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s “threats” on missile tests, saying the president “showed the real face of America.”
Khamenei asked the Iranians to respond to Trump’s threats on Friday during the anniversary of the revolution.
“We are thankful to (Trump) for making our life easy as he showed the real face of America,” he told an audience of military commanders.
Khamenei’s description of an “easy life” contradicts statements made by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif.
“I believe Trump will push for renegotiation. But Iran and European countries will not accept that,” Zarif told a local daily on Tuesday. “We will have difficult days ahead,” he added.
He added that Iran and other signatories don’t want to reexamine the deal.
So, who should we believe? the Supreme Leader or the Foreign Minister?
We should keep in mind that the Supreme Leader was not friendly in the early stages of the presidency of Barack Obama, who sent letters to Khamenei. But as we all know, things ended with Iran signing the nuclear deal with the U.S. and other western countries.
Today, we are facing a new status quo, after Trump started to issue warnings to Iran.
Probably, the clearest warning came when Trump said that Iranians won’t be receiving the same special treatment they got from Obama. This prompted the Supreme Leader to break his silence by stating that the new president confirmed “what we have been saying for more than 30 years about the political, economic, moral and social corruption in the U.S. ruling system.”
Khamenei’s criticism was directed at the same country which Tehran had signed the nuclear deal with under his blessing.
Therefore, the latest U.S. political statement and those of Khamenei on Washington and Trump suggest the Iranian FM is probably the most accurate on his “difficult days” assessment.
With Trump, things may be easier for the Supreme Leader and the Iranian extremists to continue with their oppression and enforcing more restraints in Iran. But, things definitely won’t be easier politically, economically or militarily for the Iranian regime.
Trump’s stances are not the only hurdle to Tehran, which has to deal with the positions of other countries in the region.
Things are out in the open now, and only few are fooled by Iran as opposed to the situation few years ago, especially before the so-called “Arab Spring.”
There aren’t any real allies for Iran in the region.
Hence, and after the statement of Khamenei, a war of words officially erupted between Tehran and Washington. The countdown for Iran’s tough days began, and who knows! The coming days may reveal Iranian attempts to open backdoor channels with Trump’s administration. Tehran’s loud voice is usually a cover up for a new trick.

If Iran were attacked, it would retaliate against the US Navy base in Bahrain as well as Israel, a senior Iranian MP warned. It comes amid an escalation of tensions between Washington and Tehran over new anti-Iranian sanctions imposed by the US.
“The US Army’s [sic] Fifth Fleet has occupied a part of Bahrain, and the enemy’s farthest military base is in the Indian Ocean, but these points are all within the range of Iran’s missile systems and they will be razed to the ground if the enemy makes a mistake,” Mojtaba Zonour, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament, said on Saturday evening as cited by the semi-state news agency FARS.
Zonour, a former senior figure in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, added that Iranian missiles would also attack Israel in case of an open war.
“Only seven minutes is needed for the Iranian missile to hit Tel Aviv,” he said.
The belligerent rhetoric comes after a heated exchange of hostile gestures by Washington and Tehran last week. On Friday, the Trump administration slapped sanctions on 25 individuals and entities allegedly involved in Iranian ballistic missile development.
The move is viewed by many observers as an opening salvo in an expected anti-Iranian campaign by US President Donald Trump, who said Iran was “playing with fire” by testing their missiles and had been “put on notice” by the White House.
Iran has been formally PUT ON NOTICE for firing a ballistic missile.Should have been thankful for the terrible deal the U.S. made with them!
The Iranian government responded with defiance, with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif stating that his country’s was “unmoved by threats” from Washington. The Iranian military conducted as planned military exercise in the Semnan Province on Saturday, testing its new radar and missile capabilities.
Iran unmoved by threats as we derive security from our people. We’ll never initiate war, but we can only rely on our own means of defense.
On Sunday, Trump upped the ante, calling Iran the “number one terrorist state” in an interview with Fox News. The designation followed a similar comment by his Pentagon chief James Mattis. The US president also reiterated his criticism of a nuclear deal with Iran, but would not go as far as pledging to scrap it.
Trump was among Republican critics of the Obama administration’s willingness to negotiate the deal with Iran, which lifted economic sanctions in exchange for placing restrictions on Iranian nuclear industry aimed at preventing its capability to create a nuclear weapon.
The 2015 agreement was sponsored by world leading powers hailed internationally as a breakthrough. Israel’s government repeatedly criticized it, calling it a “bad deal,” but failed to derail it.
