The Saudi Public Prosecution has accused Palestinian and Jordanian prisoners being held in the kingdom of being affiliated to terror groups and supporting or financing terror acts, a Jordanian lawyer revealed yesterday.

Mustafa Nasrallah, who is defending a number of the Palestinian and Jordanian prisoners, said in a video posted on Twitter by the Prisoners of Conscience account, that these accusations were given by the Saudi State Intelligence Services.

“Saudi Public Prosecution refers to terror acts as supporting the Palestinian national resistance of the Zionist occupation, supporting the Palestinian people and highlighting the Palestinian cause,” the lawyer said.

He added: “The detentions included prominent Palestinian figures such as Muhammad Al-Khodari, who has been the political representative for Hamas in Saudi Arabia based on a mutual agreement between both sides.”

The lawyer said that Al-Khodari’s post is known to everyone. “It is not hidden,” he said, “and it is based on the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Representation.”

Meanwhile, he said that the detainees included thinkers, writers, doctors, journalists, engineers, teachers and humanitarian activists who used to help the Palestinians.

Saeb Erekat, Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and chief Palestinian negotiator, talks to reporters about the recent Israeli elections in the West Bank city of Ramallah on 3 March 2020

Secretary-General of the PLO’s Executive Committee, Saeb Erekat, said yesterday that the UAE and Bahraini normalisation deals with Israel prepare for the formation of military alliances in the region led by Israel, Anadolu reported.

In a press conference held in Ramallah, Erekat said: “Israel will never be a tool to protect the security of Arabs, but a tool to undermine the security of the Arab states.”

“The Bahraini, Israeli, American agreement to normalise relations is now part of a bigger package in the region. It is not about peace, it is not about relations between countries. It is a military alliance being created in the region led by Israel.”

On Friday, Bahrain joined the UAE in normalising ties with Israel, a move that caused outrage among Palestinians.

“Normalisation does not serve the Palestinian or the Arab interests,” he said, “whoever depends on Israel commits a strategic mistake.”

He also noted that the normalisation deals did not include any indications to the creation of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital and a just solution for refugees.

“What happened was an implementation of the US deal of the century,” he said, stressing that these deals will not achieve peace if the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not resolved first.

Israel Approves Hundreds Of Colonialist Units Near Bethlehem

The Israeli government and its so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the executive branch of its illegal occupation, has approved the construction of hundreds of new units in an illegal colony, south of Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

Hasan Breijiyya, the head of the Bethlehem office of the “Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission,” has reported that Israel approved the construction of 980 units in the Efrat illegal colony, which was built on stolen Palestinian lands.

Settlers’ violence: Raids, land-grab, and shootings in West Bank

Occupied West Bank (QNN)- Israeli settlers on Sunday continued to commit their crimes against native Palestinians throughout the occupied West Bank, reported Wafa.

Dozens of settlers stormed the site of the Tarsala, south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank under protection by the Israeli army. The settlers performed rituals and chanted racist slogans against native Palestinians and Arabs.

Another group of illegal settlers fenced areas in Khirbet Ihmayyir in the northern Jordan Valley, aiming at confiscating them.

Human rights activist Aref Dragmah told Wafa that the settlers began to fence land from Khirbet Ihmayyir in the northern Jordan Valley, which they captured about two months ago.

In a separate incident, a settler opened fire at a house in the Shuhada Street in the heart of Hebron.

According to eyewitnesses, a settler, accompanied by a group of heavily armed settlers were at the Shuhada Street and fired at the houses of the citizens. No casualties have been reported.

Israeli occupation forces raided several neighborhoods in Yatta, south of Hebron, and searched several houses and shops and tampered with surveillance cameras of citizens on the pretext of searching for a disappeared illegal settler.

For years, farmers have not been able to reach their lands because of settlers’ violent practices. Illegal settlers have been increasingly targeting Khirbet Ihmayyir over the past two months.

The Jordan Valley is the food basket of Palestine and is the most affected area of the annexation plans, which will devour tens of thousands of dunums of agricultural land.

Several areas in the West Bank, particularly in the Valleys and villages adjacent to settlements, are under constant attack with the aim of settlement expansion.

Trump’s annexation plan would transform 43 villages, where more than 110,000 Palestinians live, into enclaves surrounded by the apartheid wall and illegal settlers.

He added that the Israeli municipality gave Palestinians 30 days to appeal.

Abu Tayeh stated that the occupation state has been targeting the mosque for several years, issuing penalties and preventing any construction works in it.

He noted that the neighborhood of Ain Lazeh, where the mosque is located, has been targeted by the Israeli municipality under the pretext of the Israeli intentions to build a national part on the ruins of the neighborhood.

Israeli occupation forces yesterday raided Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank using police dogs, Quds Press reported.

A statement issued by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC) said: “This was the most violent and dangerous attack,” noting that the Israeli forces used police dogs and beat the prisoners severely.

The Israeli occupation forces isolated a number of detainees during the raid and relocated 34 others.

Palestinian prisoners have recently staged protests against the Israeli policy of medical negligence carried out against them.

According to the PPC, there are about 850 Palestinian prisoners in Ofer prison, who are currently at risk of contracting coronavirus as a result of overcrowding, limited access to hygiene equipment and lack of medical care.

There is only one medical clinic which serves 22 prisons containing about 4,500 Palestinian prisoners. This clinic is referred to by the Palestinian prisoners as the slaughterhouse due to the bad medical treatment it offers them.

The PPC said that the Israeli occupation has escalated its raids against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails since the start of 2019.
