In the northern Qalqilia district of the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces opened fire at dozens of Palestinians taking part in the weekly anti-settlements demonstration in the village of Kufur Qaddoum.
Two protesters were shot by Israeli soldiers with rubber-coated steel rounds, while others choked on tear-gas, Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
This week, villagers came out in commemoration of the fifty-first anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque and in condemnation of the UAE deal with Israel.
Morad Eshteiwi, the popular resistance coordinator in Kufur Qaddoum reported large numbers of occupation soldiers firing sound bombs and rubber-coated steel rounds, two shooting injuries were treated at the scene.
Eshteiwi added that today’s march was launched with the participation of hundreds of locals who sang national slogans, confirmed their intention to resist, and condemned normalization with the occupation state.
Palestinian youths burned tires to obscure the vision of the Israeli soldiers, and hurled rocks at soldiers to force them to stay back from the demonstration.
The villagers of Kufur Qaddoum have actively demonstrated on a weekly basis since 2003, after the Israeli authorities closed the main access road to Nablus, in order to serve the illegal colonial settlers.
