The 18th newly formed Palestinian government of Prime Minister Muhammad Ishtayeh will have to repeat its swearing-in in front of President Mahmoud Abbas, on Sunday, in the central occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, Ma’an News reports.

The repetition would take place after it was discovered that the text of the swearing-in of the new government had a typing error.

The correct text of the swearing-in should read, “I swear to be loyal to the homeland and its sanctities, to the people and its national heritage, to respect the constitutional order and the law, and to take full care of the interests of the Palestinian people.”

President Mahmoud Abbas gave confidence on Saturday to the newly formed 18th Palestinian government and made this confidence a law.

Most of the 22 members of the 18th government are new, the key ministries, such as the finance and foreign ministries, remained the same, in addition to Ishtayeh kept the Ministry of Interior and the Religious Affairs Ministry the same until someone else is named to these posts.

Abbas said that the mission of the new government will be to speed up reuniting the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as to work toward holding legislative elections in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip to strengthen democracy.

He added that the government will also continue to financially support families of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons and those killed by the Israeli army, to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in facing the Israeli settlement policies, defend East Jerusalem and its holy places, and to build a strong national economy.

The main entrance of the Azzun village, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Qalqiliya, has remained sealed off by Israeli forces for 19 consecutive days, according to local sources on Sunday, Ma’an News has reported.

Israeli forces sealed off the village’s main entrance with large cement blocks 19 days ago, preventing passage in both directions and forcing Palestinian residents to take a different route to reach other districts.

The Israeli army claimed that the seal off was in response to Palestinian youths cutting a piece of the Israeli-erected electric fence.

However, locals confirmed that the main goal is illegal Israeli settlement expansion in the area.

Azzun is surrounded on all sides by areas under Israeli military control and an Israeli settlement bloc sits directly to the south. It has one of the highest rates of detainees per capita of all villages in the occupied West Bank, including many children.

Palestinian Shot in Face By Israeli Forces

A Palestinian man Saturday was shot in the face by Israeli forces for unknown reasons, north of the city of Hebron in the southern West Bank, according to Maan News.

Witnesses said that the victim, Hussein Abed Abu Fanous, was shot with live fire in the face, by Israeli police forces.

The bullet was reported to have traveled completely through the young man’s face, as seen in the above photo.

Medical sources described the injury as moderate, and said Abu Fanous was transferred to a local medical center for treatment.

Nowhere is Israel’s use of excessive force against the civilian Palestinian population more clearly exhibited than in the Gaza Strip.

Since March 2018, according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, 203 Palestinians have been killed, and 12, 056 have been wounded, among those include women, children, medical personnel, and journalists.

Army Injures Dozens Of Schoolchildren Near Nablus

Israeli soldiers caused, Sunday, dozens of Palestinian schoolchildren to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation in a school in Orif village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Media sources said the soldiers invaded the village, before storming the local high school, and fired a barrage of gas bombs at students protesting the invasion, causing dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

Medics rushed to the school and provided the wounded students with the urgently needed medical attention, and moved many of them to a local medical center for further treatment.

It is worth mentioning that the school has been a target of frequent attacks and violations by Israeli soldiers and illegal colonialist settlers and was shut down six times this current semester.

The latest assault was carried out after illegal Israeli colonists from Yitzhar colony, which was built on Palestinian lands, attacked the village and several surrounding village, and damaged to cars in addition to causing fractures to one Palestinian.

Israeli soldiers fired, Sunday, dozens of gas bombs into several schools, and surrounding areas in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, causing dozens of schoolchildren and teachers, to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

Media sources said dozens of soldiers invaded the southern area of Hebron city, and fired a barrage of gas bombs into several schools, and their surrounding areas.

Dozens of schoolchildren, and several teachers, suffered the effects of teargas inhalation and received the needed medical treatment.

The Israeli army claimed several Palestinians hurled stones at the military vehicles, however, the schools and many homes in southern Hebron, especially around the Ibrahimi Mosque, are subject to constant violations not only by the soldiers, but also by the illegal Israeli colonists who frequently attack the residents, especially the students while heading to school or returning to their homes, in addition to the Palestinian homes and property.

In related news, the soldiers abducted Sari and Yousef al-Akel, from Beit Ola town, while walking in Tal Romedia neighborhood in the center of Hebron city.

Also on Sunday, the soldiers caused dozens of schoolchildren to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation in a school in Orif village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Israel Arrests 3 Palestinians Near Gaza Fence

Days Of Palestine [ Gaza ] – Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians near the Israeli separated fence with the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli occupation military on Saturday, Anadolu reports.

In a statement, the occupation army said the three men had sneaked the fence into the occupied territory.

It said one Palestinians had a knife, but without giving any further details.

There was no comment from Palestinian authorities on the claim.

Israel has repeatedly declared the arrest of Palestinians for allegedly sneaking into occupied territories.

Israeli Police Impose Heavy Fines On Drivers In Issawiya

Days Of Palestine [ Occupied Jerusalem ] – The Israeli occupation police on Saturday launched an arbitrary punishment campaign against Palestinian drivers of vehicles in al-Issawiya district in the east of Jerusalem.

According to local sources, police forces spread through the streets of Issawiya, intercepted all passing vehicles, especially on the main road, and embarked on imposing hefty fines on many drivers.

The Israeli police also deployed makeshift roadblocks at the western and eastern entrances to Issawiya during the campaign, which caused long build-ups of traffic.

On Friday night, the police kidnapped  three Palestinian young men as they were walking in a street in Issawiya, with no known reason.
