The Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, at the conclusion of its emergency session in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on Thursday, announced Jerusalem a permanent capital of the Islamic culture.

The conference adopted a document on a draft program of action on enhancing Islamic and international support for the preservation of the cultural heritage of Jerusalem.

Director-general of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Abdulaziz al-Tuwaijri, said that Jerusalem is subjected to a systematic Judaization policy and a change in its cultural and civilizational features.

Al-Tuwaijri stressed that this requires effective solidarity among the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states and the international community to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and the Islamic world in Jerusalem.

A previous conference of the Arab Ministers of Culture adopted Jerusalem as a permanent capital of the Arab culture, which makes Jerusalem a permanent capital of both the Arab and Islamic cultures.
