Al-Quds University was forced to suspend classes at its Abu Dis campus Monday, after a raid by Israeli occupation forces
Israeli occupation forces closed the vicinity of Al-Quds University in the town of Abu Dis, southeast of occupied Jerusalem, Wednesday, preventing students from entering the university and nearby schools.
According to Hani Halabiya, a spokesman of the Popular Resistance Committees in the occupied West Bank, the occupation forces have closed the vicinity of Al-Quds University, the schools of Al-Maahad Al-Arabi, Abu Dis Secondary School and Abu Dis Primary School.
He added that confrontations are taking place between the students and the occupation soldiers.
On the other hand, gangs of settlers, guarded by a reinforced military force of Israeli soldiers and police, seized at dawn today an old and historic property in the area of “Aqabat Darwish” inside the Old City of Jerusalem. The property belongs to a Jerusalemite family. It is not far away located from Al-Aqsa Mosque and has recently been used as a medical clinic.
The Palestinian news agency stated that a state of discontent and anger prevailed in the area specifically and the Old City of Jerusalem in general.
Yesterday, the settlers seized two apartments covering 120 meters each and a piece of land covering an area of an acre in Wadi Hilwehin the neighbourhood of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, claiming that they had already bought them.
