51 Palestinians injured in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli occupation’s use of bullets and tear gas according to the Ministry of Health on 1 October 2018
Turkey on Sunday strongly condemned the Israeli occupation’s use of excessive force against Palestinian protesters in the besieged Gaza Strip.
“We strongly condemn the excessive and disproportionate use of force by the Israeli security forces against the innocent civilians using their right to peaceful assembly in Gaza, which resulted in the killing of seven Palestinians and the injury of more than 500 people,” the Turkish foreign ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, Israel’s continued use of force against Palestinians in the occupied territories reaffirms the importance of implementing the UN General Assembly resolution on the protection of Palestinian civilians.
The statement urged the international community to insist on holding Israeli officials accountable for these crimes and to prevent such attacks from recurring in the future.
The statement stressed that Turkey will continue to pursue this issue in international forums and stand by the state and people of Palestine.
As many as seven Palestinian demonstrators, including two children were killed on Friday and more than 500 demonstrators were injured, including 90 people with live bullets, during protests near the parameter fence.
