The Palestinian Housing Council and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) earlier this week signed a $5 million deal in support of residential projects in occupied Jerusalem, Felesteen.psreported.
The deal is an extension of a previous deal signed in 2015 with the IDB worth $25 million in support of residential programmes in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Chairman of the Palestinian Housing Council Hisham Al-Omari thanked Kuwait, which paid the funds from the Kuwaiti Fund for Economic Development through the IDB.
Director of the Palestinian Housing Council in the northern governorates, Omar Al-Khuffash, stated that these projects would be specific to Jerusalem and would be implemented sing certain criteria and conditions set out by the council.
Al-Khuffash said the programme allows Palestinians to apply for loans in order to buy, repair or extend their homes.
