The days of Holy Eid al-Adha in the occupied Palestinian territories have been far more painful than many would think, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, the Head of the Supreme Islamic Committee in Occupied Jerusalem, said.
“We, the Palestinians, have been marking Eid while many among us have been jailed, injured, or even killed by the Israelis,” Sabri told the PIC. “Occupied Jerusalem has been grappling with a tough cordon, marring the joy we’re supposed to feel on such a holy occasion.”
“The Palestinians can only be happy if the Israeli occupation of our land is over,” added Sabri. “How on earth can we be happy in the midst of Israel’s simmering terrorism?”
Sabri urged the Palestinians to combine forces and rally round the poor and needy people at such a holy occasion.
