Israeli occupation forces kidnapped 880 Palestinians occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and besieged Gaza Strip in July, a statement said on Wednesday.

The statement was issued by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Al-Mezan Centre for Human Rights, Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association and the Palestinian Committee of Prisoners’ Affairs.

Among the kidnapped were 144 children and 18 women, the report pointed out, adding that the majority of the kidnappings took place in East Jerusalem the occupied West Bank.

July’s kidnappings brought the total number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails to 6,400, including 52 women, 10 teenage girls and 300 children, according to the report.

Among the prisoners are 12 members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), one of whom has been classified by Israel as an “illegal fighter.”

Meanwhile, approximately 450 prisoners are being held without trial or charge under Israel’s widely condemned policy of administrative detention.

Israeli occupation authorities issued 97 administrative detention orders in July, 20 of which were first-time sentences, while the other Palestinians saw their existing administrative detentions renewed.

Israeli raids in Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps are a daily occurrence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, with a biweekly average of 95 search and detention raids carried out over the course of 2016, according to UN documentation.

Israeli forces raid office of al-Khalil inspectors, arrest 5 members

The Israeli occupation forces at noontime Tuesday raided the office of Palestinian inspectors in al-Khalil and arrested five staff members.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a number of officials being arrested, as well as Israeli officers seizing documents from the building.

The occupation forces further shut the office, in the second such move during the week. Five Palestinian staff members were arrested in the assault.

Rocket lands in southern Israel, no injuries reported

A rocket landed in an open area in Ashkelon city in southern Israel on Tuesday evening, causing no injuries.

An Israeli army spokesperson claimed that the rocket had been fired from the besieged Gaza Strip.

Red alert sirens were sounded as the rocket fell in the city.

Israeli police forces were sweeping the area looking for any other rocket that might have landed in the area.

Israeli warplanes carried out Tuesday evening a number of airstrikes, targeting different areas northern and western the besieged Gaza Strip.

The PIC reporter affirmed that two resistance sites, belonging to Hamas’s armed wing, were targeted during the air raids.

At least three injuries were reported during late Tuesday night’s strikes.

The injured were immediately taken to hospital, one of them in very critical condition as he was hit in his head by a shrapnel.

Earlier Tuesday, Israeli army claimed that a rocket, fired from Gaza Strip, landed in southern Israel. No casualties or damage were reported from the rocket explosion.

A Palestinian worker from Qalqilya, in the northern occupied West Bank, was found injured in Kafr Kasem, in 1948 Occupied Palestine, late on Tuesday evening.

Palestinian worker Hani Youssef al-Sheikh, aged 26, was shot and injured by anonymous gunmen in front of a café in Kafr Kasem.

The worker sustained injuries in his limbs and stomach and was transferred to a hospital in 1948 Occupied Palestine for urgent treatment.

Palestinian in Israeli jail rushed to hospital following heart attack

Palestinian detainee Daoud Tal’at al-Khatib was transferred to hospital following a heart stroke rocking his body, the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Committee said on Tuesday evening.

According to a statement by the Prisoners’ Committee, al-Khatib was rushed to Soroka Medical Center after he suffered myocardial infarction.

Al-Khatib, a native of Bethlehem province, is serving an 18-year-sentence in Israeli jails. He is currently held in the Ramon lock-up.

Israel’s incessant attempts to turn Gaza into “a laboratory rat” for its military hardware are just unacceptable, Hamas said on Wednesday.

Speaking a few hours after the Israeli occupation army struck Gaza overnight on Tuesday, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum, said Gaza shall never remain a testing ground for Israel’s warfare arsenal.

At least three Palestinians were left wounded, including one critically, late on Tuesday evening after Israeli warplanes hit resistance sites in the besieged coastal enclave of Gaza.

A Palestinian citizen was found dead on Wednesday in Nablus’s southern town of Hawara, in the northern occupied West Bank.

50-year-old Mohamed Moussa Oudeh was fatally stabbed with a sharp object in his chest in an automobile repair shop on the access road to Hawara. The perpetrators remain anonymous.

The casualty was found bleeding on the ground. An ambulance transferred him to Rafidia Hospital.

Palestinian policemen showed up at the scene and launched an immediate probe into the crime.

Israeli settlers from the illegal Helmish and Ateret settlements, which border the Palestinian town of Umm Safa north of Ramallah, set fire to two Palestinian vehicles in the town in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Head of the village council told Quds Press that a group of settlers attacked the town and burned two vehicles belonging to local residents.

Walls of local homes were vandalized by racist slogans, he added.

He pointed out that Israeli settlers recently carried out several attacks against Palestinian properties in the town.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out at dawn today in Kubber town north of Ramallah when Israeli forces brutally stormed the town amid heavy fire of rubber bullets and teargas bombs.

A young man was hit by a rubber bullet during the clashes while two relatives of a Palestinian prisoner were detained.

The entrance to the town was also closed.
