Samaa TV’s Taimoor Khan Shaheed laid to rest


KARACHI: Samaa worker, Taimoor Khan, who was shot to death in Sunday evening gun attack, has been laid to rest in Karachi on Monday.

The funeral prayer for the eternal peace of Taimoor was offered at Bilal Masjid located in Orangi Town. People from every walk of life including representatives of journalist organizations attended his funeral.

Later, he was laid to rest in Paposhnagar cemetery.

Yesterday, Samaa TV’s Assistant Cameraman embraced martyrdom after the organization’s Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) vehicle came under attack in Karachi.

According to our correspondent, the incident took place when the Samaa TV team was on its way for coverage of alleged grenade attack on police vehicle at KDA round.

The bike-riding outlaws opened fire at Samaa’s vehicle, leaving assistant cameraman Taimoor in critical condition.

The 22-year-old injured employee, who received gunshot wounds to his head and chest, was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he breathed his last.

Karachi’s Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra condemning the incident said that some terrorist elements are still operating in the metropolitan city.

Talking to Samaa, he said that the motive of terrorists is to spread anarchy in the city.
