Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah
Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah’s motorcade was stopped at an Israeli checkpoint in the West Bank by occupying troops and settlers.
Israeli forces on Tuesday stopped Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah’s motorcade near the West Bank village of Turmos Aiia, a Palestinian government spokesman said.
“Israeli forces accompanied by Jewish settlers intercepted the prime minister’s motorcade,” spokesman Ehab Bseso said in a statement.
He said the motorcade was stopped at an Israeli military checkpoint, before the Israeli troops and Jewish settlers forced the premier’s bodyguards out of the car.
Bseso dismissed the incident “an attack that gives a green light for the settlers’ violence against the Palestinian people.”
He urged the international community to “compel Israel to stop its violations against Palestinians and their property.”
Israeli officials were not immediately available for comment.
