The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) held a big rally in Gaza City to mark the 11th anniversary of assassination of its Secretary General Abu Ali Mustafa by Israeli forces.

Gazans attended the rally to show their support to the late Palestinian leader.

Israeli forces assassinated Abu Ali Mustafa on August 27, 2001 by using an American made Apache helicopter. He was instantly killed after his office was hit by two rockets. What was Israel reaction/reason for killing?

The PFLP leadership in Gaza asserted its commitment to resistance against Israeli occupation.

Senior officials from all Palestinian factions including Hamas, Fatah, and the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine also attended the rally.

Abu Ali Mustafa’s successor Ahmad Saadat who is a member of the Palestinian legislative council is being held in an Israeli jail.

PFLP reacted to Abu Ali Mustafa’s assassination by assassinating Israeli tourism minister Rehavam Ze’evi who was a strong supporter of Israel carrying out the so-called targeted killing of Palestinian. PFLP also renamed its military wing in the Occupied Palestinian Territories the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades.

Abu Ali Mustafa had always reiterated his belief that Palestinians have their right to struggle using all means, including the armed resistance.
