Cremisan residents show resistance against Israel confiscating land

Residents of Cremisan are resisting Israel’s decision to construct the wall in their area.

The wall will cut directly into Palestinian land, isolating residents from Jerusalem/ al Quds

Furthermore Israel have continued to expand settlements, have closed a rural road and bulldozed Palestinian property

The residents of Cremisan valley situated in the Bethlehem District of Beit Jala are building popular resistance against Israel’s decision to confiscate large areas of their land.

Israeli forces have issued an order confiscating 37,000 square meters of private land near the Cremisan monastery.

This area has been heavily targeted by the Israeli forces as they have demolished several structures, destroyed electricity poles and closed agricultural roads.

Local Christians supported by Muslims are now attending a weekly demonstration and holding a church service where the Israeli wall is now being built which will isolate the community from east Jerusalem-al-Quds.

Israel has demolished structures on the pretext of lack of Palestinian housing permits, however Israel refuses to issue permits to Palestinians on their land. Residents state that Israel is continuing to demolish houses and annex the land in order to build and expand settlements as the area is near Gilo, Betar Illit and Gush Etzion settlements alongside the Separation Wall.

The demonstration being held in Cremisan is gaining momentum each week as the people are demonstrating against the Israeli wall separating their land and isolating Palestinian  villages.
