Israeli forces have opened fire on two unarmed Palestinians in the Sinai border with Egypt, killing a Palestinian and wounding the other one.
According to an Israeli military spokeswoman, the two were trying to cross the Egyptian border into Israel when they were shot.
She gave no details on the identity of the two men, but it is believed that they were residents of the Gaza Strip.
Tel Aviv claims that Egyptian authorities have lost control of the vast Sinai desert bordering Israeli since former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in a popular revolt last year.
Israeli is now constructing a massive steel barrier along its vast border with Sinai desert to prevent the entry of migrants.
According to Israeli sources, since the ouster of Mubarak more than 60,000 African migrants have entered Israel.
