RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Israeli higher court in occupied Jerusalem decided to release Islamic Jihad official Khader Adnan who has been on hunger strike for 66 days in protest at his detention.
Informed sources told the Palestinian information center that the court canceled the administrative detention and replaced it with an actual prison term ending next April.
The sources added that prisoner Adnan suspended his hunger strike after a deal brokered between his lawyer and the court.
For her part, the wife of the prisoner told Al-Jazeera satellite channel that her husband would be released on 17 April, but if the Israelis extended his detention, he would resume his hunger strike once again.
