Protests have reportedly continued through Saturday in Bahrain, and activists report that a 15-year-old boy has died after being seriously injured by government security forces.
Earlier, the February 14th Movement had called for people across the country to get onto the streets at 2pm local time and stage a sit-in.
Organisers said that thousands turned up, and groups of riot police showed up to respond around 2:30pm.
Activists reported use of rubber bullets and tear gas.
Because of restrictions placed on Al Jazeera in Bahrain, more details are difficult to come by. We will continue to post as more information rolls in.
